It's raining today and I spent some time creating my first Mass Effect wallpaper.  I like the ones Bioware has put up, but I don't like big logos and text on my desktop, so I stripped down the standard "Shepard" wall and put him onto a background from the concept art for ME3.  Then did a little bit of editing.  I kind of like how it turned out.  I might make more featuring other chaacters as more images come out.

For now, all you Shepard fans can enjoy this I hope. 

Oh, it's 1920 x 1080 ... so it should work for most wide desktops.

His suit looks darker, which I like.  How did you do that?  Just curious.  Anyway, nice image. 

Wide bristle burn brush with small radius ... then just kind of looked at the highlights of the original and darkened them.  Added some shine by sharpening in the same manner.  Tricky part was the original had some light from the background sun image; had to sort of make that look like the reflection of the omni-tool.

I have just one male and one female Shepard I use exclusively, I have kind of got attached to them both.


I too am not really in possession of any creative bone’s but I work in a theatre/drama/teaching environment, on the technical side. I suppose working amidst a lot of very creative and talented people, I have learnt to appreciate the more aesthetic side of things.
Oh and I usually just play around randomly/aimlessly with the pictures until something makes me go

Hmm, I'm in error actually. I did make guys but I didn't like the faces I made. Come to think of it, I gritted my teeth and ran one through his paces in ME1, just so to get at least a guy Shep with Ashely for the rest of the trilogy. Unfortunately, I abandoned him in ME2.  I gave up. He and I have no fate.  Perhaps I'll try again *sigh* just before ME3. All I have to do is to make him attractive in at least 1 feature. Just one.   *prays* 


Cool! You must have many interesting experiences in your job. I'm sailing nowhere at the moment; a caregiver. I'm not sure when I'll hit land, maybe years down the road before I'll breathe fresh air and see new things. *shrug*

ME1 has a movie quality, I kinda miss the 2 black bars in cutscenes.   And that music! The armor, the beautiful shiny black weapons (I have a thing for black on things you see  )  I certainly do miss talking to a Hanar.

I finally finished my first full maleShep playthrough. I started one waaaaay back when ME1 came out, but gave up. It took me quite a while to get this one done as I’ve played the game more times than I can count. It took me a while to “acquire the taste” for Meer’s Shepard too, but ultimately it grew on me. He delivers some great renegade lines and has an urgency in his voice (which she doesn’t have) that I quite like. Although it left me to wonder where was the button to just say, “STFU and do your damned job!!” With the exception of Grunt, Samara and Tali, I had him refuse all the loyalty missions. But he begrudgingly did all the loyalty missions anyway. Not only was this guy my first maleShep, he was also my first pro Cerberus Shepard. Well, he played nice anyway. He certainly didn’t agree w/ everything they did, but he recognized that Cerberus was the only group doing anything about the Reapers. Why put up a fuss? It just wastes time.

I remember reading a blog at some time where Casey Hudson said he could take manshep, but femshep would kick his a**. Alas, now I cannot find it. It made me laugh, though.
