Very proud of this one: Qiyana Lynne Shepard

A found shot.  Don't think I could duplicate this one if I tried.

Shepard's thinking Legion should dial the lens flare back to 11.

Probably one of my top 10 of her.  Can't think of any words to put in the empty space however.

Thanks. Are there not that many Shepards of color in this thread?

She took me two or three days to get her this way. I started working on her in ME2 hoping that I wouldn't have any unfortunate incidents during the import process. So I have her face code and slider positions for those who'd like to run her through ME. =)

Meet Johari :)  earthborn, war hero, infiltrator and a paragon.  she is my "inspired by Ororo Munroe" Shepard.  I have a variety of shepards, whether its skin color, morality, romances, or ethnic inspirations.  Johari is African, and according to baby name sites, her name means valuable.

Not really.  But I blame the fact that the darker skin tones don't really look right in ME1.  I tolerated Rachel being "close enough" all through ME1 till I could get her to E2 and "fix her."

She was born in Cairo, Egypt.
She's technically mixed:  African/Arabian/Swedish/Native American (her mother was part Native - American/Swedish -- hence the blue eyes)

LOL... thread topics are rather slow right now since we have had no new info on ME 3 in quite sometime( reminds me of how they handled DA 2 with the whole NDA thing...)

I was coming back. I've wanted to post in this thread for a while now and didn't have much to show off.

100k, I don't know how you're able to create male Shepard's like that. Every time I try one I hate how he looks. I wish there were more eyes and nose selections or that you could shape them. I find creating a female to be easier, especially now that I'm more familiar with how heads and faces are structured.

Posted Image
This is one I made last year. She's not as unique as I thought she was going to be and I had a particular going for her - missed it -, but the result was still acceptable. I use the same eyes, but I was taught that the presets in ME alter the look of a lot.

Posted Image
In any case, there's the ME and ME2 codes for Qiyana's face. I was going for a West African look (my background is Nigerian) and I came remarkably close as far as I'm concerned.

Sia, the skin tones being what they are...I'm actually happy with them. My shade is a bit lighter than Qiyana's and darker than the first picture above. At least it's not comical or maybe I just got used to it. Can you imagine what things would be like if we had APB's character generator? Although that one could use more tweaking for body shape.

Well, maybe it was just my 360 and my Sharp Aquos TV, but that same skin tone in ME1 looked reddish a lot, even when in blue light.  So... I went with it and gave her a few stereotypical Native American features to go with the sterotypical skin color, like the hawkish nose and the broad cheekbones.  Another friend of mine said she ended up looking Indian, though, not Native American, so... YMMV.

All I know is, it took me forever to make her and she's pretty. At least to me.

She looks like a more mature version of my adept, HotWings.

Maybe.

ANYWAY, now that I've got my foot in the door, time for a stupid question:

For those of you with multiple Shepards, would your Sheps get along with each other?

Because I have a feeling Jo (paragade infiltrator) would try to kill Dick (renegon vanguard) in his sleep. HotWings and Rowena (paragon soldier) might get along simply out of their shared passion for blowing things up and punching bad guys IN THE FACE.

They'd get irritated with one another. Paragon St. Avery would find Meghan's and Rachel's less than polished approach dangerous but borderline acceptable. Meghan would find Avery's and Rachel's tendency toward politeness irritating as hell. Rachel would think they were inferior soldiers since they both allowed their hearts to get tangled up with their jobs -- completely ignoring the fact that she hangs on Joker's every er... joke.

I never really thought about that. Always imagined it was a kind of parallel universe deal for my Shepards.

I guess both up top would get along with each other. The very frist Shepard I made would be a pushover (I selected top right and blue responses for everything) and that might grate on their nerves. The light-skinned one (Jaime) is a bit more easy going than Qiyana which is weird considering her colonist background versus the latter's spacer background, but Jaime hates Batarians so much it would give Qiyana pause (she joined as soon as she turned 18 because of what happened on Mindoir).

Ermm.... since I usually only play as renegons... I would say they all get alomg pretty well...though some of my males flirt with my females n vice versa... The paragade sentinel fem, I'm playing now might be a lil different...but the big moments or decisions in the game they all agree wholeheartedly on...particularily the nuking of the collector base and putting their collective foots up TIM's ass afterwords.

Just advancing slowly in the game. Noveria and Feros have some places with good mix of shade and light. Some Martha Shepard pics:

Erica and James, my two renegades, might get along, though he is a bit of a misogynist. As long as he didn’t hit on her or make tasteless jokes, she would be okay w/ him.  He wouldn’t care one way or the other about her except to maybe check out her ass when she’s not looking.

UJ, my canon and a paragade, has an, “I am better than that” attitude even more so than my paragon, which makes her a bit hypocritical.  However, she is very, very patient w/ people, a trait she shares w/ Erica.  Outside a few differences of opinion, they would probably get along fairly well.  UJ and James would hate each other’s guts.  April, another paragade is more of a loner and probably wouldn’t hang around the others.  Jaime, my only true paragon, would get along well w/ UJ fairly well, though she’d get tired of the “attitude” pretty quickly.

Hm. Interesting question.

Paragon Orion and Olivia would get along fairly well -- but only as two people who share the name of "Shepard". If they were both saviors of the galaxy and Spectres, they would have a brisk, smart, clean relationship with each other -- not close and intimite like Garrus and Tali, but more akin to Admiral Hackett.

Renegade Orion and Olivia would kill each other -- Olivia being the victor only to die after her wounds overtake her.

-However-

I have already long contemplated how Orion and Olivia would get along if they weren't Shepard, and were just two people working average jobs. It's a dramatic, sad, and happy story for them. But that's a story for another time.

@Xeranx

Thanks. But it's important to note that Orion has been underdevelopment for about four and a half years. Ever since ME1, I made characters that looked like him: black skin + blue eyes (as a reference to the book The Bluest Eye), worn face, bald, etc. This is just the most recent, and as of now permanant, rendition of a series of faces.

If I could, the only thing that I can really recommend to you for male faces is facial texture. For me, it came 100% down to facial texture. I like the young texture, but it just doesn't have anywhere near the quality of the older two textures. I used the older more worn textures because I felt that they really set Shepard apart from the average NPCs in the game -- and because I feel that they offer a deeper expression on Shepard's semi stoic face.

The downside is that Orion looks like he's about 40 (which I liked until I discovered that Shepard is only 33 at most), but I set out to make a face that looked at least as recognizably different from the average NPC faces in the game as possible -- akin to Miranda's, Jacob's, or Zaeed's faces.

I didn't quite succeed because Orion's cheeks are still too gaunt which gives him an slightly cartoony feel from the wrong angle, but I can't figure out how to set a proper cheek gaunt level in the CC, so I'll just leave it.

But yeah, start with facial textures, then go for a face with unique "flaws" to start, and "perfections" to finish.

My Shepard's are completly opposite characters.
I think they wouldn't like eachother in the beginning, but they would learn to respect one another.
If they meet in an AU, they would be unstoppable. Poor Reapers. B)

I'd definitely say you achieved this with Orion. He's one of the most unique faces I've seen in Mass Effect. I'm not surprised you've been tweaking him for 4+ years. And yeah, that last texture really does add a lot of personality that would've been absent otherwise.

It's good. Most every ME2 squadmate feels like a superhero or supermodel, anyway.

Do you by any chance have any more Sheps, 100k? :)
