A found shot.  Don't think I could duplicate this one if I tried.

Probably one of my top 10 of her.  Can't think of any words to put in the empty space however.

This is a great looking femShep!

She looks very 'alive' if that makes any sense. There's tons of personality in her expressions.

Thanks. Are there not that many Shepards of color in this thread?

Not really.  But I blame the fact that the darker skin tones don't really look right in ME1.  I tolerated Rachel being "close enough" all through ME1 till I could get her to E2 and "fix her."

There is also a distressing lack of hair options.

AdmiralCheez wrote...

Maybe.

ANYWAY, now that I've got my foot in the door, time for a stupid question:

For those of you with multiple Shepards, would your Sheps get along with each other?

Because I have a feeling Jo (paragade infiltrator) would try to kill Dick (renegon vanguard) in his sleep. HotWings and Rowena (paragon soldier) might get along simply out of their shared passion for blowing things up and punching bad guys IN THE FACE.

I think my main Shepards would despise each other.

Drea: You know Blowing things up isn't always the answer.

Teagan: Sorry we didn't all have perfect childhoods with Alliance captains for mothers.

Drea: Don't act like you know me. As if growing up on earth is any excuse for being a complete a-hole and emotional wreck. I feel sorry for Kaidan.

Teagan: At least I've never been called 'The Priiize.' It's all over the extranet you know.

Drea: Hmmm. Where is Kaidan now, anyways?

Teagan: You stole my hair ****.

Drea: Skank.

Teagan: Goody-goody.

I don't know if it's just the lighting in that screenshot and the face expression but Drea has got to have one of the most realistic Shepard faces I have ever seen.

Commander Shepard is only as good or bad as the player is.In a previous post in this thread I stated how Shepard can be mediocre or extrodinary.I chose the latter.So... What your essentially saying is that hardcore gamers or completionist Shepard's and they themselves are Mary Sue's?

I consider myself a good gamer on a technical level (both Mass Effects on Insanity are pretty easy, to my gaming experience), and a decent roleplayer.  I've obsessively completed all the side quests in the games, multiple times.  I still consider my Shepard to not be "the best" soldier in the Galaxy.  For example:

Posted Image
Among other things, "Good Soldiers" don't bang their subordinates.  ;)

I'll happily take your "mediocre".  :P

Well, i don't see how you can see Shepard as "Medicore" if you play the game, as you say you have.Going above and beyond the call of duty and such.If you are a "true completionist" than that means you even went as far as getting all the Turian Insignias, Matriarch Writings, Protheian Disc and League of One Medallions. That's no small feat...That's for sure.

Personally, I first began to see my Shepard as something special after I took out all the Geth Outpost in the Armstrong Cluster:

The geth have begun setting up a number of small outposts in the Armstrong Cluster of the Skyllian Verge. You must eliminate these outposts before the incursion becomes a full-scale invasion.

The way I play games like Mass Effect is: I tend to do all the side quest before any main quest.I like to get my expeirence points up as high as possible, before fighting the "Big Bad" :P Completing these missions in particular had a profound affect on me.I remember thinking:

"Wow Shepard. You know... You have a pretty cool job." :wizard:

Most of us want to at some point in our lives, make a differnce in the world.I thought to myself, (from Shepard's perspective) "If I never discover what Saren is up to.If i die before his end game is revealed.I will die at peace. For at least I did something good and right in this galaxy." ^_^

Taking out those geth outpost was a big deal... and far from "mediocrity" .That's my two cents anyway...

My Shepard's are completly opposite characters.
I think they wouldn't like eachother in the beginning, but they would learn to respect one another.
If they meet in an AU, they would be unstoppable. Poor Reapers. B)

Thanks ELE.  Nice Shepard's as always.

The fact that you singled out that pic has me looking for any photos I have that might have something more substantial to them.  I don't know much about photography and what makes a good picture, but the one you left up there has something the others don't and I'm trying to look for more of that. :)

The downside is that Orion looks like he's about 40 (which I liked until I discovered that Shepard is only 33 at most), but I set out to make a face that looked at least as recognizably different from the average NPC faces in the game as possible -- akin to Miranda's, Jacob's, or Zaeed's faces.

I'd definitely say you achieved this with Orion. He's one of the most unique faces I've seen in Mass Effect. I'm not surprised you've been tweaking him for 4+ years. And yeah, that last texture really does add a lot of personality that would've been absent otherwise.

slightly cartoony feel

It's good. Most every ME2 squadmate feels like a superhero or supermodel, anyway.

Do you by any chance have any more Sheps, 100k? :)

You're too kind =]

I actually have two other femSheps and maybe another mShep (I can't remember anything about him though-- he might just be a Sheploo); Nazca and Sol Shepard are the women -- and I think the mShep is named Jon.

But I haven't used them in years. I'm just too comfortable with my double Os.

Because taking screenshots every second to find the images you missed is worth it.

I have many more of these, but they are much less... appropriate... when considering the caption.

Hah Yes Reapers wrote...

S.A.K wrote...

@Hah Yes Reapers,
Why do you hate Shepard?

It's a love-hate thing I guess. Sometimes (s)he's awesome, other times (s)he's embarassingly stupid. And that stupidness makes me feel like (s)he's overrated too, for "galaxy's best soldier."

In short, I'd change A LOT of things about him/her if I could.

It's good that Shepard is "human" and makes mistakes, Shepard dance fail is totally acceptable, but many of the other mistakes he makes just baffle me considering what he is: the galaxy's best soldier.

An experienced fighter like him should be looking out for a sniper on the Derelict Reaper, he had just seen two husks get sniped in front of his eyes only moments ago. He completely missed the geth on a platform right
in front of him. Oh yeah, and walking into a room where an Eclipse merc is hiding behind a desk, not even looking around the room passed the threshold of the doorway (on a mission where, he's actually looking for
information which is somewhere in the warehouse). I mean, a damn 2 year old would walk into that room and find her (or any human-being capable of walking, for that matter).

Also have issues with the dialogue, when sometimes he says things in ways that make him sound completely
dense. I feel like a guy like him should sound like someone who has a handle on most situations he's in, but the dialogue tends to be something you'd expect to hear if you put a civilian in his place. It's one of the things that annoys me about Harry Potter, being stunned by everything he sees. Maybe for the first two years, but year 3 and 4 he's still acting like he's seeing magic for the first time.

I would change it so that, if the player doesn't get what's going on, Shepard will ask "Well wait, I know blah-blah-blah from experience, so this must be going on right now. Right?" "- Right Shepard, and also
this-this-this."

Really, I'm just a very meticulous individual. I get very hung up on small things. My room has to be completely tidy
before I study in it. I'm a hardcore football fan but I can't play Madden because of things like a player's hair not being correct. So Shepard bugs me a lot. I love the moments where he's awesome, loathe the
moments where he's derp.

Yeah... There are some times when Commander Shepard can do some very strange things  For me, the BIG One - is when the Normandy SR 2 is upgraded with the Thannix cannon. For some odd reason or other he tells Joker to get in close and finish off the ship that is like 5 to 7 times the size of the Normandy SR2.

WTF!?! :pinched: Its as if Shepard had no thought for the amount of shrapnel and the debri field that a vessel of that size would produce when it explodes.Joker does as he's ordered to do, and the Normandy and its crew almost get killed because of it. What the hell were you thinking Shepard!? <_< Geez man...

Also... The half-hearted attempt Shep seems to make, to recruit his former squad mates.By just saying:
"Let's work together again. It will be like old times." :? But be that as it may:

Some say that, "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link." With Commander Shepard; more than not - imho at least. I believe that, "The whole (of who he is) is greater than the sum of its parts." I feel the same way about Harry Potter ...Most of the time :P

Thanks again, guys. I really appreciate the feedback.

I actually used a screenshot of one of my Sheps, but I changed the hair and messed with her features to make her look older and more SRS BSNS. It wasn't until after I was finished that I realized she wound up looking like the new default FemShep, and now that I think about it, she does look kind of like Hale.

There was also gratuitous beefing up of the shoulder pads. I need more space marine in my space marine.

I really appreciate hearing that from you, Liz (since I respect your opinion a lot and stuff).  I could've had cleaner lineart and better shadows, though.  *is never satisfied with anything*

I really want to try drawing some other people's Sheps, if they don't mind...
