Redesign of my original Jamie Shepard. She's a shade darker, has different facial structure, and wider jaw. Basically I paid better attention to balance of features than I did with Jamie. So she's new-ish.

Playing through from the beginning.  Making up her story as I go along as I don't know how to necessarily apply a ruthless background to the game seeing as I've never used it before.  Trying to go with gets the job done, but isn't a monster.  It's weird to do given the dialogue options.

You're not alone.  I still can't make a male Shepard I feel is good enough to save my life.  

In fact this is Michael Shepard.



Unfortunately I hate just about everything about him.  I wish the eye selection for males was more varied or variable.  I was unsure of which mouth style to use so I went with what you see.  I'm not even going to start on the nose choices for males because I find them worse than the eyes and I'll more than likley start an incoherent rant on them.  The hair...<_<<_<<_<

I'm still not sure how I pulled off Raji Shepard when I made him in ME 1...and because of the better engine ME 2 makes him look even better...though I do wish i could change his hair to the spikier hairdo that I see some of the npc characters in ME 2 sporting...

Does anyone have all the possible 'Background' options coexisting in the same universe?
Because I do. In my headcanon, anyway.

Only one of my characters is 'Canon' Shepard, naturally, but since all six events (Mindoir, Akuze, the Blitz, Torfan, et cetera) canonically happened no matter which one you pick, it would make sense that the instigators (or at least the people involved) also are around. Somewhere, at least.
My War Hero's serving in Admiral Hackett's division (mostly pushing papers, buit hey, someone's gotta do it). My Ruthless character's dealing with pirates (and by 'dealing with', I mean introducing shotgun to face) out in the Traverse. And so on.

As a further example, there are some quests in ME1 I will take with some characters, but not with others, because to my mind it makes sense that someone else got there first. Admittedly it's mostly the background quests, but there are other variants, for each character I rotate through.

Any of you do this kind of thing, or am I just getting way too into the 'roleplaying' part of 'RPG'?

I guess it's possible to have a Shepard that plays a role in each battle that pertains to the psychological profile.  However I'm unsure as to how realistic it might be.

Akuze (2177)
Torfan (2178)

I had it written that my Spacer Shepard joined the Alliance because of what happened in Mindoir.  She was part of the resistance duringt the Skyllian Blitz, but gained noteriety for being the only survivor on Akuze.  I didn't read the wiki to get dates and I never considered Torfan.  It looks like it was good for me to not include her in that considering it occurs a year after she lost her unit.  And it's also lucky that the events occur in such a way that it doesn't make her story look horribly contrived.  It certainly gives more support to her being overconfident with the Skyllian Blitz (Shepard is 22) under her belt as I had written her and then being knocked back down to earth during Akuze (Shepard is 23).

Though the background of the Skyllian Blitz says Shepard was on shore leave and rallied people against the threat, I don't think it'd be hard to rework it so that Shepard isn't the focus.  She probably requested that her involvement be kept quiet due to the possibility that she is a military brat and it might endanger her mother wherever she may be stationed.

I need to look into this more as I may have to change everything I had written already.

Actually, I was referring more to "all of the events happened, but only one of them was instigated by Shepard". 
Or, if you prefer: the Sole Survivor, War Hero, and Ruthless personas (along with, potentially, each of the 'origin' stories) all exist in the same universe. They're just different people.

That said, it would be pretty hilarious to have all three of the psychological events lumped into one person. In a "WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO MEEEEEE" sort of way. XD

Ah. Well I think Toombs can definitely claim the Sole Survivor title if Shepard isn't using that persona. I don't know who would claim either War Hero or Ruthless however.

Regarding the psychological events, I think a Ruthless Shepard would be the only one that could claim all of them. That would be one tough badass. It'd be easy to see how a Ruthless Shepard can come away from Akuze mostly unscathed.

It's certainly an interesting idea.  I personally don't RP too many of my Shepards that way, since I have far too many of them and it'd be confusnig.  My "canon" Shepard, Sadie, and my earthborns are the only ones who definitely exist in all alternate versions of Shepard's story.  Sadie is a colonist, so in all other versions she simply did not survive Mindoir.  I imagine that my other 2 colonists, Mel and Liz, were her cousins (and perhaps sisters themselves; they are pretty far down on my spectrum of canon-ness so I haven't thought about it much).

It's a similar story with my Earthborns, since they were all being raised in different cities.  Again, I imagine that in alternate versions, they simply don't survive their background story.  Delta, who had a drug problem as a teenager, probably died of an accidental overdose.  The other two weren't druggies, but it's probably not hard to meet a tragic end when you're an orphan gang member on Earth.

Spacer is a bit more limited in terms of background to me, since we hear all spacers having the same mother, so there is only one "canon" Spacer for me: Kate.  She's the only one who I imagine surviving her childhood to enlist in the Alliance no matter which Shepard I'm playing, though she would have died on Akuze.

So by the time the events of the games come around, there is only one Shepard still "alive".  I don't know if this rambling is even readable, but there you go.

So... What is your Shepard's favourite weapon? Tiia absolutely loves assault rifles. Sniper rifles comes after that and submachine guns will have to do before she gets the assault rifle specialization.

Eviscerator Shotgun.  Mmmmm.  My vanguards never put it down.  That's my personal favorite as well.

Hmmm... for me it would assault rifles( revenant) particularily since thanks to gibbed I can mod them into my games for all of my Shepard's:devil:, then shotguns( claymore), then smg's( kassa locust), finally sniper rifles( which I actually like the incisor more than the collector ship weapon)...

The Widow. It might be tied with the Mattock as my personal favorite, but I don't use assault rifles on infiltrators.

Hmmm... for me it would assault rifles( revenant) particularily since thanks to gibbed I can mod them into my games for all of my Shepard's:devil:, then shotguns( claymore), then smg's( kassa locust), finally sniper rifles( which I actually like the incisor more than the collector ship weapon)...

I'm a bit too lazy hassle with weapons but she gets her armour right from the beginning (uh... with Kestrel armour buffs and ammo pack bonus, she's actually wearing invisible helmet too ).
