Who would like to see Garrus as Shepards equal in ME3?...

Edit: Oops, sorry Javier, is late here, was not thinking...

I think that is a position that he REALLY does not want now. I think he's more than happy as a squadmate. He has virtually no influence in the turian hierarchy, flunked as a spectre and was disgraced from C-sec when he became a vigilante.

I would love to see Garrus as a Spectre or Commander in his own right.

If I recall, none of that happened.

I dunno, I always viewed Garrus and Shepard's relationship as one of student and master. Garrus is certainly badass in his own right, but I don't think he could hold a high-ranking position without breaking alot of rules.

This is going to be closed and redirected back to the main Garrus thread.

But while it's open, I hope it reflects our interaction with the character over two games.

I'm more partial to seeing Garrus as a commander, because I think his leadership skills are a bit subdued when under Shepard's command and I'd love to see how he marshals any turian resistance.

I'm clinging to my suspicions that he's received a field commission to the Systems Alliance, to assist with the retrofitting of the Normandy. He's calibrated the damn weapons so hard that it would require him to be there to help out. :P

he reapplied for spectre training after ME1, and I'm pretty sure c-sec will want a word with him after his sudden  resignation and abscence.

Garrus is in a pretty lonely place right now. The only support he has is from shepard. He admits it himself. most of his friends and family is either alienated or dead.

I'd love to see him as Shepard's equal... and then see them fight it out.

I want Garrus to become a Spectre. I think ultimately it would be perfect for him, as someone who wants to do good without a lot of red tape to get in his way. Someone who is just told, "This is your mission, go and get it done."

Failing that, I'd rather see him stay a member of Shepard's team or do something freelance rather than work in the turian military. I think the regulations would drive him crazy.

I don't see him as Shepards equal, not in Shepards squad.

Spectres: He's tried (twice now) to become one...

Not in my game. He only was considered for training once and never tried for it, his father wouldn't allow it. Between games he went back to C-Sec, but then left.

Commander Shepard has no equal.

/Thread

In all seriousness, Garrus reapplied for spectre training between ME1 and ME2 (if you took his renegade path) but he was rejected. Safe to say that's the end of it. Besides, we'll probably already have Ashley/Kaidan as spectres, why add even more? Not only that but the title Spectre doesn't really mean anything any more in ME3. All the bets are off and in the war with the reapers there are no rules, hence a spectre doesn't have that 'above the law' edge either. And making a squad member a spectre just for the heck of it is just plain dumb if you ask me.

I'd still support Garrus for spectre over Ash/Kaidan if I had a choice but not both of them.

I'm kind of saddened that Garrus will be a squadmate in ME3 for this very reason.

He quits, that's not better.

He'll never be Shepard's equal as long as he's on Shepard's squad.

I'd rather see Garrus pick up a new squad and work with us in a mission or two.

If you go Renegade it could even be a little bit of a competiton...

"Besides, if I'd wanted to do more than drop your shields... I'd have done it."

Oh, is that so, Garrus?

That is better. It shows that the reason he didn't become a Spectre wasn't a lack of ability.

nope, it was lack of dedication, which in the eyes of the spectres is just as bad. You don't get second chances at a job like that. No quitters.

It wasn't a lack of dedication. He was tired of the red tape. And besides, Shepard can become a Spectre again, even though he works with a terrorist group.

Understood and agreed...to a point....would like him to be fairly regular myself in ME3 whilst battling the Reapers...otherwise totally agreed.

This^ I really like, would have loved Shep to say something like that....:wizard:

I could see this.
