I am playing Dragon Age 2 installed on my XBox 360 hard drive.
I played through once with no difficulties.

Last night, however, during my second playthrough, after defeating Orsino (with a team of mage Hawk,
Varric, Aveline and Merrill), I found myself able to speak to Meredith (who urged us to move forward...)
but the path was blocked by a pinkish electronic barrier.  Whenever i speak to Meredith, she just keeps
saying the same thing.

I received the XP for defeating Orsino -- and could perform most functions normally (accessing character profiles, etc) -- but nothing i could do removed the barrier.

So I reloaded the previous save, and fought Orsino again (with the same result).
I cannot move forward if the electronic barrier won't disappear.

Has anyone encountered a problem like this before?  Any advice as to how it may be resolved?

I hate to think that my second playthrough is jeopardized and can't be completed,

Any insights or advice will be most appreciated.

Yes, I had that happen to me. once, but that was before either patch. I think I just had to reload and do that part over. I have noticed that if you try to rush anything, like looting bodies, or going places before the game decides it's ready to, you may experience little quirks like that. Basically, don't beat the enemies too fast. :)

In my 7th or 8th playthrough, Isabela was stuck on the other side of that barrier throughout the entire Orsino fight. In that case, I was able to proceed after that group of enemies was dead.

I will reload and try a third time...

i wonder if there is any merit to reloading an even earlier save and trying again. Since i am not sure what the source of the problem may be.

Yeah, that couldn't hurt. It really stinks, but it might be what is needed to bust you out of that loop.

on my fifth reload --- and replayed battle -- the barrier disappeared and i can go forward.

Not sure that it makes any sense. In any case, i took the advice of not rushing around too much.

5 reloads? Good god, I'm sorry you went through that! I am happy to hear that you got past it, though.
