I like the option to play female chars (although i never get to finish any of them) but i hate femShep. She acted exactly like a man but in a womans body.Of course maleShep>femShep since he is the real deal IMO.

Shepard's gender isn't canon, jsyk. :P

And how, praytell, does a man act? This is a question I've asked a lot of people and I never get a real answer. 'Bold and decisive' aren't actually masculine traits.

^ I believe the problem they are referring to is in the animations, rather than the actions/dialogue.

On-topic, no matter how tenuously: why did BW give Femshep and Maleshep the same animations?

Saved time and money. The usual reasons for cut corners.

Not to mention they did it in ME1.

Mm, if that's the case, then I'll somewhat agree- as a woman who actually does move much like femShep in ME2, I find everything but the running pose with the incredibly awkward headtilt pose fairly believable.

Man, Javier must be feeling generous if all he did to this thread was move it.

Edit for an hilarious typo.

You know, this could have been a mature discussion...Bioware is leagues ahead of many other companies in terms of including 'real' female characters in its games. I had presumed that this might imply there would be some genuine interest in discussing it here.

Yeah, instead it became a platform for chest-pounding and bro-fisting. Yeah, we women derailed this thread.

Actually, you did. It was quite correctly pointed out that Shepard as a character is the most important thing and you (and people like you) are trying desperately to make this a gender war. The people that support both genders have been insulted, attacked and disrespected by femShep supporters and I find that not only distasteful but also rather detrimental to the cause of Equality For Women.

so... what is this thread about?? it is some malshep vs femshep thing?

IMO as long as the person is compantite I don't care if its a male or female. Females are accutly better shots with guns, Soviet Union(or was it Russia at that time I forget...) used alot of woman as marksman in WWII.

So if you want to take this game and say "Crowning glory to "feminism"" go right ahead.

Conversely, men that treat women with 100% equality get b!tched out for being too hard on them. Funny how that works, isn't it?

People in general tend to treat anyone who doesn't give them preferential treatment loads of crap. Man, woman... we're all a bunch of jerks deep down. :P

Indeed. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard somebody complain about sexist hiring practices (both men and women), I'd be able to take a nice holiday somewhere.

I imagine that at a basic psychological level, it's easier for a person, be that person male or female, to blame sexist hiring policy for their failure to obtain a job, rather than acknowledge that they simply didn't do well enough.

Oh sorry, it just sounded like a stupid stereotype often thown around by people, who just accept whatever they are being told by the media.

And men who treat women with oh-so-much respect get relegated to the role of "nice guy" and have minimal reproductive prospects.
