I suppose it is nice that femshep isn't walking around in bikini armor and catsuits like some women in video games though.
Which is all I really care about.
Now if they can fix that problem with the rest of the Mass Effect girls.

You just don't understand femshep she's revolutionary and hidden because Bioware hates her

That's kind of the point, isn't it? Shepard is a strong character no matter what gender, so, Shepard being female means she is a strong female character. It's BECAUSE she is so equal with the male that people like her. It's not like,
Man Shep: Save the galaxy! Headbutt Krogans!! Rough up criminals!!
Fem Shep: Save the galaxy! Diplomatically, calmly sweet talk the Krogans!! Flirt with criminals and jiggle your goods until they bow to your whim!!
She's not sugarcoated just because she's a woman, and if there's dialog that differs between genders, it's never froo froo or overly sex-kitten (with the exception of EVERY CONVERSATION with Jacob, maybe).
I have a terrible time getting words from my brain to text in a way that expresses what I mean, but yea. There you go. That said, I'm not involving myself in another chicks-in-games war, though the hour of Bayonetta I played did make my ovaries revolt.

When talking about equality it should be clear that in-game Shepard is not an issue. The problem is the marketing where FemShep(and many other females) has been completely absent and/or over sexualized. Anyone who has been a member of these forums for any considerable amount of time know that the female fans do not appreciate this. The Big Bad Wolf - Having to resort to Wikipedia to find important information on a game in leeway of the games own main site is just sad and I doubt many would take the time to do so.
The main site for any game doesn't reveal every bit of information. And it's not sad to find an outside source of information on a game.

I truly feel sorry and recommend professional psychiatric help to anyone whom is so physiologically vested in the gender of a video game character.
I think this is a bit harsh. Although I don't really approve of this thread, I still know that gender equality is a serious subject for some people. It's natural for people to have respect for the gender equality in the ME universe, and to some people Femshep embodies this equality.

I'm not saying that wikis aren't a good source for game information, just that important facts like "You can choose your gender" should be found somewhere in a main site. Game trailers and reviews only give us very basic info to catch our attention. Many people will buy games from just that but the main site should expand on any trailers and reviews by providing other crucial info in order to sell the game. For female gamers(40% of gamers) who have thus far been excluded from marketing, this could be a major selling point. It is sad that crucial info like this can only be found in third party websites. The Big Bad Wolf wrote...

Okay, okay. I'll stop. I'm joking.
I tend to treat females with equality in all sense, although it bothers me that females scream for 100% equality while complaining about people who beat girls an not those who beat guys.
I mean seriously, if you want equality, fight back. That would earn so much respect in my eyes (not that I don't have any respect as it is).
Back to the topic, a better example of a female would be Ashley in ME1 and ME2 (I think BW might be going to the oversexualised route like what they did with Miranda with Ash and this worries me.) I really like the kickass female that was still obviously a female.
FemShep is irrelevant to me because the only difference is the romances and the voice acting (And, albeit very few, lines of dialog). Shepard is the character. It is neither male or female until the player chooses one. I, a male, have played as a femshep. I enjoyed it.
If Femshep got the spots for trailers in ME3, i wouldn't mind a bit because I would still be playing as both male and female. The only reason why I see it as stupid to make all or most of the ME3 trailers involving femshep would be that the markets are used to Maleshep. That's not me speaking, that's my inner marketing creature.
I'm all for equal rights between male and female. I just think that you may be looking in the wrong direction sometimes.
For a male mascot, I don't look to Manshep, I looks to Garrus or Zaeed or Jacob.
For a female mascot, I look to Ashley or Jack or Tali. (Sorry Miri fans. I respect her as a character but I do not respect her obvious oversexualisation)
I am not a girl, so I don't know if Jacob's Reaper-eating abs count as male oversexualising.

that stat counts facebook games and iphone games and the like. i wouldnt qualify those as the more hardcore type games that mass effect falls under.
dont use faulty statstics to base your point, it generally undermines your argument more than it helps it. 40% is WAY off.

Is this a rhetorical question? Or just a stupid one? Because I don't play commercials or trailers, I play GAMES. And in my GAMES, some of my Shepards are female. FemShep is here to stay kiddos, and if you don't like it, well, have fun not liking it.

I'm a male and I agree with this statement. I love when everyone's treated equally and Femshep is just as awesome as Maleshep. Both are saviors of the Galazy and show what humanity can do when we're united.Sora Shepard wrote...

Bioware's making a femshep trailer, so it'll be here most likely at comic con.
