Hi I just Got Mass effect 2 Awhile back i formatted my comp before doing so i saved all the files in my Mass effect 1 save folder I did everything the tutorial said to import your mass effect 1 save I hit new game imported character
and there my character was so i hit import character but to my surprise nothing happened... So basically Everything worked accept the actual importing in the game Whenever i hit the import character button which my character SHOWS up but when i hit the button NOTHING happens...

1) Please register the game on the forums. This is not an accusation, but given the spate of users with illegally downloaded copies coming to the forums asking for help, forum registration is the only way we can be sure we are dealing with a legit copy. I have this problem too. I have registered the game on the Bioware Social Network.

My saved games are stored in the file format .masseffectsave is this normal ?

Have you used the ME2 config utility to import them into ME2? Did you finish ME1 with those saves, as only completed games will be recognised, incomplete games will not.

I was using the ME2 utility and like Thereaperx151 said, nothing appeared to happen when I clicked the button to copy my old profile.

I tried it again after my post. This time, as I exited the ME2 launcher, I was presented with a dialogue asking me if I wanted to save the details. I think therefore the problem is just a confusing interface, because I have now sucessfully transferred the saved profile to ME2.
