after about 40 hrs of solo play, I finally made my character complete dual class assasin/figher (25/26).
Of course due to the very high level of the each class, I got some thief high level abilities also including 'use all item'.

The problem is, I'd like to stick to the original concept of my character which is 'grand master class sword user striking behind his enemy' -cool isn't it?- but I couldn't find any decent looking armor that allows me use thieving skills.

All the leather armors in this game have those half shorts exposed legs kind of a look and I hate it. I absolutely hate it.

So, here's my question. What kind of armor gives me cool looking while not restricting using thieving skills?

(By the way, my personal favorite 'design' of an armor is Dark Plate's. I wish something in this game had similar design with no restriction.)

The white dragon scale from ToB allows thieving in my install. Also elven chain.

The armor made from the shadow dragon in Umar Temple area is also thief usable. Don't remember what it looks like, other than its black.

It looks just like ordinary leather armor besides that.

As it turns out, I like the looks of a splint mail. Is there any of them thief usable?

I am not aware of any splint mail that is thief usable. I haven't tried this, but maybe a simpler solution would be to use whatever leather armor you wanted, but then change that armor in shadowkeeper to look like splint mail.

Is the objection to the paperdoll image in the character screen, or the actual appearance in-game?

Either way, you could use shadowkeeper to modify your appearance. Change your appearance from fighter to thief, and instead of wearing short-shorts, you wear full body cloth with a hood.

I've been using every kind of  glitch to beat the game, including potion-scroll bug, potion-money bug. But there are few things that I decided never use. Using Shadow Keeper,DLTC or any kind of exterior edit is one of them. (I don't use any of exp gliches either.)

Well, It looks like I got no option for this matter. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

All it does is change your avatar. There's no benefit other than aesthetic.

Have you tried the Hide Armor, specifically the Shadow Armor, or Orcish Armor.  From what i recall they are full suited leather armor without gaps between the pieces.

Well, Shadow Armor is just ordinary leather armor I guess but I think I found suitable piece of armor. Any kind of drow chain suits my style and goes with thieving skills also. I fired Jaheira to use them outside though.....

Do you mean you gave Jaheira your drow stuff and then dismissed her so you could go back to Athkatla and get her, and use that exploit thingy?

Otherwise drow stuff will disintegrate, but I guess you knew that already.

Alternately, CTRL 6/7 allow you to swap paperdolls until you find one you like.
