 ...that make you wonder: why?

Most of us consider Dragon Age 2 as inferior to Origins. For myself, I put it as some kinf of "plain good game" with many flaws. But, unfortunatelly, it is the sequel to an epic game; and that means that there are lots of little details that revealed the feeling of playing to an inferior product.

So, let's get away from the great-used concerns (like re-using maps or wave sys), let's stick to those little details that made you say... what?
  • My first bad impression was the char-selection screen. A dark background with people doing weird moves. I remember my thought: why is she moving the staff like that? and where is my elf char?

  • Then, after enjoying the prologue and the new fast-paced combat (I really like that new feature), I took a moment for exploring the menu and the interface. A dark backrounf again... and little items with no description.... and cloned icons! And... the same codex!?

  • After killing dozens of enemies coming from thin air, and being able to select my party, I looked to the party selection screen... and, whoa, it was as dark as the char one! I felt weird. How is that they werent able to copy-paste the brick scenary from Oringins at least? Selecting Sten with a detailed scenary and hearing " Yes!" was one of those little things that made you feel in front of a very worked product.

  • I finally killed that bastard boss in one of the "quests" involving killing thugs at night streets. He had a cool ring with a flashy name. I looked at it, curious to see the effect on my main char. But.... hell, how is that?  It has the same effect as some ring I found at the beggining! And it has a different name! What the...!?
  • So...! The arishok framed us and put some venom on the streets! You are a BAD qunari! Let's see that poison!... [Hawke feels the poison] I see! It is some kind of harmless poison that hurt us but inmediatly heal us too! Now I understand the famed science qunari thing! You should call yourself quatum, not qunari!
