I would really prefer to play in exploration mode but most of my party doesn't follow when I'm in this mode (except for leeana). As far as I can remember I have tried using the follow command and that hasn't helped.
Any suggestions?

You mean Elanee? Make sure they aren't in puppet mode, and give them the command again (I would use "attack nearest", not "follow me"). But I don't see any relation between this and the camera mode.

I have actually seen this happen in game. Sometimes the AI gets stuck. You should try Tonk K's AI Package as it fixes a bunch of stuff and makes the game more fun.
Run the override version of this mod for best results.

That worked just fine, thanx. Is there a way to make the screen spin slower? Tried using the options didn't help much.

Watch out for that. There is a little button on the GUI that will put NPCs in Puppet Mode; it can get clicked accidentally in the heat of action. If it's half or completely red, re-click it.
As for the screen spinning, you can manually edit settings in your INI files to numbers lower than you can practically get using the onscreen sliders. The file you want to look at is nwn2player.ini . You can find it in C:\\Users\\***you***\\Documents\\Neverwinter Nights 2.
