If Sebastian could retake Starkhaven on his own, he wouldn't have been hanging out in Kirkwall for years. I think he could hunt Anders on his own and kill him, if you let him go, but I don't see him marching armies into Hightown. I don't think Leliana will come back as an adversary, because it seems to me that the Divine and what the Chantry is actually doing, might not be one in the same.

Well, actually they hint that the current King of Starkhaven (his cousin) is a dimwit, and he is surrounded by other Dimwits. So Sebastian retaking Starkhaven is quite likely, depending on what they do with him in a DLC/Expansion, or DA3. Also, Hawk doesn't really disappear if you choose to be Viscount/Viscountess of Kirkwall. If you're female and marry Sebastian you probably will end up assisting him in reclaiming the Starkhaven Throne and thus becoming Queen, and thereby uniting Kirkwall and Starkhaven (as Sebastian himself says.) It could lead to many possibilities, even as far becoming a relatively large new Kingdom in that entire region, and breaking Orlesian influence in Kirkwall and the freemarches once and for all which would make some sort of sense considering the series is really by all indications going into the Orlesian Empire situation more and more, with more mentions of Empress Celene I among other things.

If you're a male than what happens between you and Sebastian is anyone's guess, but I'd assume it would just make you friends or allies, and basically the same theory could apply. Also on that note, if you don't marry him and you're enemies there's a chance you could actually defeat him and take the throne for yourself, and most of that which I mentioned would still apply. Would be fun and make replaying the game more worthwhile to see the different outcomes of the potentially big picture. You're kind of playing a "game of thrones" in this franchise, it's become a staple with DA2 and I find it really interesting.

Nonsense, first off, Starkhaven doesn't have a king, it has a Prince. Sebastian is staying in Kirkwall as a thanks to Hawke, helping him/her with whatever s/he's doing. He says so himself that he will return to Starkhaven/Chantry when their business is done.

Hawke won't claim Starkhaven for his/her own, s/he can't even stay on the Viscounts seat in Kirkwall, so that is out of the question.

If it was so easy to retake Starkhaven, he should have done it to begin with, even if only to abdicate the throne to someone else. On top of that, if he could take Starkhaven, it would show that the place is weak and would be ripe for the taken by a place like Orlais or Nevarra. The only way I think a union with Kirkwall would benefit Starkhaven is if it was a union between Sebastian and Meredith. And no I don't mean they get married, Meredith is MINE lol.

What I mean is Kirkwall doesn't have a standing army to offer to Starkhaven or any real political pull. The Templar's being the largest standing force in Kirkwall, that could get more support from other places if need be, would have made them a far better companion than a Viscount.

Well Sebastian had a home with me. Also the backing of the Viscountess of Kirkwall in retaking Starkhaven. Scenario one.

He does in fact take back Starkhaven, calls in help from the Divine Justinia a close friend of the departed High Cleric, and Kirkwall ends up destroyed in an Exhalted March. Scenario two.

Sebastian leaves Kirkwall, goes to Orlais and reports to the Divine. She raises an army of the Faithful, Templars and Seekers and sends them to cleanse the Free Marches. Scenario three.

Sebastian leaves Kirkwall and finds a nice little Chantry somewhere to spend the rest of his days. Scenario four.

Votes?

Judy.

PS Varric says to Cassandra that fortunes change, such a clever dwarf, the reason that I'm not in Kirkwall is...I'm in Starkhaven as Sebastians wife. Aveline now rules Kirkwall Posted Image
