Asari have vaginas and "penises". The penis shaped organ does not ejaculate, but it does have a sensitive nerve cluster that strengthens the neurological bound of the mind meld.

No they don't. But nice trolling attempt, you get a cookie.

Sure, they do.  And I'm pretty sure "trolling" is not defined as stating something you disagree with.

Siansonea II wrote...

People act like vaginas exist because penises exist. Well, that ain't necessarily so. The female reproductive system is structured in a specific way to protect the fetus during gestation. Regardless of whether a species has males or not, those structures make sense. The cervix is protected inside the body. The birth canal can expand to allow for delivery of the newborn. The uterus and ovaries have a function even without traditional human fertilization (asari would still produce oocytes/ova and expel them from ovary-analogs, like other mammals). Asari are aliens, but they're not really all that alien. Based on their similarities to humans, it is ridiculous to say that their reproductive structures are markedly dissimilar from female human anatomy, and even more ridiculous to claim that they're pseudohermaphrodites. But hey, that's the BSN for you. Lulz for everyone.

Thanks for the human anatomy lesson. I really appreciate it. But, getting back to the topic of asari biology which you must also have a PhD in considering your expert knowledge on the subject puts you in a position to dictate what is and is not ridiculous in regard to comments about asari physiology. Please, enlighten us.

Well, given that I don't have any real-world first hand experience with asari physiology like you clearly do, I simply stated what I felt was a logic conclusion given the type of relationships you can have with Asari. If you would have no problem being in a sexual relation with a species incapable of finding any pleasure whatsoever in sexual intercourse. Be my guess. I just don't think most people would want to be with a woman who either just lies there reading a book or is knowingly faking it, having no real physical sexual desire toward you whatsoever. None of my Shepard's would anyway. The lack of genuine "human intimacy" shared by both parties would make such intimacy feel really shallow.

Yeah, you're a troll. You make a preposterous and unsubstantiated claim, i.e. "asari have penises", for no other reason than to watch the fireworks ensue. 100% Pure Troll Behavior. As if anything in the lore even suggested such a thing. Most trolls at least try to come up with something that sounds believable. Amateur.

As for "I just don't think most people would want to be with a woman who either just lies there reading a book or is knowingly faking it, having no real physical sexual desire toward you whatsoever." Boy, are you in for a surprise when you start having sex.

Asari have female body shape. The breasts I assume would be to feed their their young, which would suggest mammalian heritage , I would also assume they have a birth canal as their hips are generally -female- orientation which makes for child bearing hips. I don't think they lay eggs as the mammaries suggest mammalian live birth.

However as far as intercourse is conserned, they just -meld- with either gender via their hands and do a genetic transfer that way.

I -think- they give birth in the same way.

but the actual act of reproduction I don't believe requires sexual intercourse.

As for vagina's not existing as a match for a penis..... I have dismissed this claim, so has millions of years of human reproduction. Fact is, if the two were not meant for each other, none of us would be here having this convo.... I know it's gonna ****** off feminzi's , but ... your dad put his pee pee in your mom and you were the result, deal with it.

See, this makes the most sense. With both no need for sperm and the fact that they seem to primarily experience 'orgasms' through the mindmeld, a lot of the important bits down there become pointless or redundant.

My only question is why people confuse melding with sex? It's used in reproduction, just like some species of fish reproduce without sex, but it's not said to generate orgasms on it's own. It connects the nervous systems of two partners, but no orgasms will be had without the ability to engage in funny business with proper organs and erogenous zones.

Just saying.

All I've done is make educated guesses about asari physiology, based on their marked visual similarity to humans AND on the Codex description of asari reproduction. You just pulled a rabbit out of a hat. Or rather, a penis.

Correct they have belly buttons which means womb birth.

so they are born within the host and delivered the same way ((not an egg))

How they got in the belly is the question....

the stork did it.

Can you give an example of an earth species that gives mammalian type birth with out the existance of males to impregenate?

And lines "screwing" and "squishy" doesnt prove, that all races can have physical sex with asari?

There's no such thing as Asari physiology. They're a fictional species, and their plumbing hasn't been established. So getting mad at someone for having a different opinion than you on the subject is kind of pointless.

All creatures that reproduce have reproductive structures of some kind. We pretty much know that asari pregnancy/birth is similar to humans' version of same, so it stands to reason that the asari body is very similar to a human female body, since they perform the same function. And asari are clearly very closely related to humans, what with their overall shape, five-fingered hands and human-like faces. Just because asari conception is different from human conception doesn't mean the process of gestation and birth is fundamentally different. And it's a misconception that asari take on genes from the father organism. Melding with the father organism only allows the asari to randomize a second copy of her own genome, not take on the father's genome. If that were possible, asari children with alien parents would be hybrids. Since they are all 100% asari, it's obvious no genetic material is exchanged. The asari themselves don't seem to agree exactly how the father's genome influences the daughter, if it does at all.

This is very true.   And after all, Asari babies have to come out somehow.

I have found no reason to think asari having a hermaphrodite-like physiology is absurd. Have you?

You seemed bitter concerning the concept of a significant other actually taking pleasure in coitus. I assumed your partner either didn't find you attractive anymore or you did not find your partner desirable. But maybe you have no significant other and perhaps you are bitter due to loneliness. Either way, I'm sorry to hear that you live such an unhappy and unfullfilling life. I hope things get better for you in the future.

Mad? Pffft. I don't care about this enough to waste a perfectly good Mad.

And this argument could be used to end any discussion. There's no such thing as fill-in-the-blank. It's a fictional thing, and therefore...

So yeah, when it comes right down to it, everything we say is "pointless".

Short Answer: No

Long Answer: Since Asari replicate through an asexual process with genetics randomized off a 'seed' from the 'male' parent's mind they would not have the same sexual organs as humans do. In fact the entire term sexual organ would be a misnomer in this case since Asari don't truly have sexes.

Asari certainly have a birth canal which would be similar to a human females, but it possibly, maybe even probably wouldn't be an erogenous zone as it is in humans unless they've had sufficient contact over millenia with species that are sexual in order to produce such a trait.

Well, yes. What would be the function of such an organ in a sexually female species*?

* From the Codex. The Codex does not say that asari are sexually hermaphroditic, directly contradicting your "educated guess".

You assume a lot. For one thing, you assume everyone has the same feelings about sex and relationships that you have. You're wrong.

Which, in fact, they have.  They've been a space faring race for something like 2500 years.
