I've been working through my last ME2 save to get ready for ME3. I usually have have enough Paragon/Renegade points to get the choice I wanted on all my other playthroughs, but on my last playthrough, I couldn't access either the upper/lower left options a few times when U felt like U should have compared to other playthroughs. The first time this happened, with the Miranda/Jack fight, I thought "Oh well, should have planned my loyality missions better." and lived with it. (The Tali/Legion fight ended with the Paragon choice) When I played through the Shadow Broker DLC, I got to the hostage situation, and I couldn't pick out either Paragon or Renegade choice. I re-loaded and looked at my character, and he had FULL Paragon bar.
Is this just an odd glitch? Are difficulty changes (I lowered the difficulty from Insanity to Veteran after a few missions) making the choices unrereachable? While I'm not above just modifying my save file to get what I want, I do want to experience the game.
Paragon choices not coming available with full bar

Unfortunately, the paragon/renegade system isnt as cut and dried as you think. I used to have the breakdown of it bookmarked, but can no longer find it since I rebuilt my system.
Basically, it doesnt matter how full your meter bars are, its got more to do with how many points you have in comparison to the total amount of points that have been available throughout the game until that point.
This means Paragades and Renegons are screwed, as the morality system forces you to choose one moral stance, and stick to it throughout the rest of the game. Even something as simlpe as doing the first interrupt on Mordins recruitment (Renegade) instead of waiting for the second one (Paragon), can have a last effect throughout the rest of the game.
I always edit my save games to give me a few hundred points in each morality at the start of each game, as well as resources so I dont have to do planet scanning.
Now, all that said, it could just be a glitch in your save game causing the issue, but 9 times outof 10, its more to do with the broken system than a broken save.

What genius thought that up? I always screw up every now and then (and when it just feels right) and hit a Renegade action in the middle of a cutscene: either it feels right, or I think some bas-terd just deserves it. And then there are times when I just want to do a quest that only a Renegade gets, but generally like the Paragon choices. Where was that savegame editor again? I like the idea of just going ahead and setting it so I'm not having to "worry" so much about which choice is right or wrong at any given time.Bogsnot1 wrote...
