I have just finished the provings from "A Lord's Trust: The First Task."  As I have done in previous playthroughs, I eliminated all of Bhelen's combatants and was declared champion by the Proving Master.  However, my log for the quest now reads as follows:

"Dulin Forender wanted you to fight in the Provings in Lord Harrowmont's name, but you failed to do so."

Ignoring for the moment the fact that this makes no sense whatsoever, it has created some very serious practical problems.  I am now unable to proceed with the questline.  When I return to speak with Dulin, he has the exact same chat options as he offered before I entered the Provings but after I accepted the associated quest.  As far as he is concerned the Provings have not yet occured, and I still cannot speak with Harrowmont himself.  At the same time, the Proving Master can no longer even be engaged in dialogue and will only continue to congratulate me on a battle well fought.

Unfortunately, my last quicksave and all recent autosaves are logged after the Provings are concluded, since I attended to some other business in Orzammar before seeking out Dulin again, and it did not immediately noticed something was wrong in my quest log.  My only remaining option appears to be switching over to Bhelen's side, which entirely contradictory to my current character's interests.

It's too late to salvage this playthrough, but I am hoping that some of the devs check this forum from time to time and can see about addressing this problem in a future patch.

I was able to get around this issue by using the following console script from the debug CLI.



runscript zz_orz_debug



Once you execute this command, a multiple choice menu appears that will allow you to force complete the mission and move past this dead-end loop.

How do you beat the last midgets in the provings?? plus i cant seem to shag morrigan!!

win her trust through gifts and conversation - boring - and so on, and when you are back at the camp, talk to her about "something intimate/personal questions" do this two or three times and you´ll be able to ang her in all possible positions
