So, I'm replaying DA2 for the fourth time after a couple of months off to catch up on some other games and concentrate on my new job. I picked up the three item packs to give my new Hawke some stuff to play with that I hadn't used before.

However, despite all three packs showing up in my list of in game content on the web and my list of installed DLC, the items don't seem to be available in game. They're not in the special deliveries chest at Gamlen's house, and when I loaded a save from an old character I've already competed the game with, they weren't at the Hawke estate, either.

This may belong in the tech support forums, but I want to check I'm not just missing something silly before I post it there. Does it mean anything that there are asterisks next to all three packs in my list of installed DLC? Is there something else I need to do other than buying, downloading and running the .exe files?

There are a couple of older posts on this and the common denominator seems to be a lack of connection to the EA servers. Double-check that you're connected when starting your game and see if that does the trick.

Sorry that I don't have anything more definitive. Good luck to you.

If you're seeing them listed on the Downloadable Content menu in game, then they're installed correctly. I'm guessing the asterisks are because the EA servers havent confirmed your ownership yet.

If everything is done correctly you'll find the items in separate chests in your current residence. Different chests, one for each class of items. Not the Special delivery one. If you're at the Hawke estate they will be in the study behind Sandal. If you're still in Act 1, they'll be in the same room with the other chest.

Turned out the server was indeed not connected - apparently my firewall had somehow become convinced that the EA social network was evil. Thanks for the advice!

DRM is evil. Unfortunately for all us gamers, there is no shaking these wicked things it seems :(
