 In the last while my dog has started standing wherever I call him, unmoving, even if I move on, and even if a battle begins not too far away.  Anyone else had this?

Yes, I've had moments like this. It seems the Dog is still having problems with following Hawke.

In my first playthrough I had problems with the dog summoning at all. In My second and now third playthrough I have had no problems.
