So I am sure you can do the voice synching as we see it in-game all the time, but exactly how much can you do with something like a Desire Demon with the toolset? For instance, could one make a Desire Demon a party member? Would this character be able to perform most of the animations? Anything anyone knows about how much you can do with them in the toolset would be much appreciated. Plotting out my ideas beforehand.

well you can certainly make a desire Demon a party member, not sure how big the animation tree is for the desire demon but you can compose new ones if it lacks in this department. The animation editor is quite scary and not something i have yet mastered. It's have been one of those that i would love to grasp better..

If you want it as an NPC I'd think lopping off the tail and reweighting the body mesh to use the Human skeleton (or just deleting the excess bones of the demon rig) might be the best approach. Same goes for the head mesh. You could then either set up the body to be the base mesh for a new race, and/or use it as the mesh for a set of armour/clothes. By going that route the mesh will be able to use all the existing Human fighting, etc. animations. If you scaled the meshes just ever so slightly they'd be the same size as the female Human rig, so you'd get the added bonus of being able to use the head with female Human armour/clothes.

Thanks for the quick response, and very informative. I've been scouting by watching the Desire Demon confrontation in the Circle/Redcliffe and it does seem to have at least quite a few animations for it. I'll have to wait until I'm able to actually open it up and look around, but I think it might just work. Thanks for clearing up the basics for me, wasn't sure if it was even possible before.
