^Didn't count, but I'm sure it took me at least 12 hours.

And I didn't do anything in first 2 hours but to talk with scientists. God, that was hilarious. And they succeed to make penis joke funny! That's saying a lot since that joke is usually awful.

Using FOMM I assume? Can you post your load order and tell us what mod were you trying to include? :)

I figured out my problem.  I had dumped the whole mod folder into Data, but when I moved the .esm and .esp files out of the subfolder into the main Data folder, then the mods appeared in the list and I could enable them.  So I started playing New Vegas Bounties, it seems pretty cool.  I did go back and disable Strip Renovated mod, though, because it slowed down the game so much that it froze.  Too bad, since I did like how they opened the Strip up.  I hate running through all those gates.  In general the Strip is my least favorite part of the game.  I've never even done the gambling minigames.

Holy crap, I came upon the cave with the Legendary Deathclaw last night. I'd never been in there. O_O I think Boone went unconscious from fright alone.

OMG, that's like a required encounter! I made the mistake of tripping into that cave as a level 5 dimwit. Needless to say it did not end well. Finally had to backout, level up some, and return later armed to the teeth with frag mines...and with Boone...and with ED-E...and a pair of .50 cal AMRs.

EDIT:  Makes the encounter with that Legendary Bloatfly pale in comparison, huh?

I don't know how I missed it before? I'm still finding new locations. I also hadn't found Hell's Motel before.

Is the Legion a good questline to follow?

Define "good". But it has a lot less coverage and content than the NCR side. It's one of Josh Sawyer's regrets about the game - that they didn't have the time for a proper settlement w/ quests on the Eastern side of the Colorado to showcase Legion society and that there was no Legion oriented companions.

On the other hand, it's probably one of the more unique ones if you got "all-out" given that NCR has a large presence in the wasteland. It's fun to do a psycho Legion character who eradicates the NCR at every turn.

But even if you don't, you can still play the game a in way that you are friendly to the NCR for most of the game (and you can complete many of their quests in a "bad" way), up until the final quests or so.

I meant "good" as in fun and worth playing. It sounds like it got a lot less devotion than the NCR, which is unfortunate.

The legion path should be played at least once. The firework of Archimedes I and Fantastics "conversion" are hilarious.

"Hey man, when in Rome"

Just leave your conscience at Doc Mitchells house, don't expect nearly as much content as on the NCR side and everything is fine.

Fantastic and that guy at the start of Honest Hearts (Ricky?) are the best obnoxious characters.

I think they're voiced by the same guy, and he also does Little Buster- whose a-hole is too precious for bounty work. They must have hired that VA primarily because he can keep a straight face in the sound booth.

Ricky- with his third nut that glows in the dark.  Does he offer to "drop trou" for male Couriers, too?

Nah, that's for the female characters only, haha.

There are some clever checks in that dialogue. Love that you can call him out on his bullcrap if you've actually been to Vault 22, or even if you have Power Armor training (when he claims to have a shot a BoS member through the eye-slit of his helmet).

Wish more devs would care to put in more fun checks like that.

During my first playthrough, I joined the Legion and single handedly wiped out every NCR outpost primarily with melee weapons. I was disappointed that it took a really long time before NCR hated me.

As others have mentioned, the Legion side offers less quests; however, if you are role playing a character affiliated with the Legion, you can still complete most of the NCR quests as a sort of spy (if you become reviled by the NCR, you can always put on an NCR disguise).

Caesar is a really interesting, well-written character IMO. And the assassination mission is one of the most fun quests in the game.

They did a pretty good job of making no skill useless, as things like Barter and Medicine were in FO3.  They might have gone overboard in making Speech almost a mandatory skill, though.

I think Rawr gave me a harder time than the Legendary Deathclaw >.< probably not having my usual gang with me. But i finally got around to making Fist of Rawr, pretty awesome weapon

Do the Legion side at least once, its worth doing. Not as much content as NCR as others have said but i had fun nontheless

^One of my favorite encounters. Wasn't expecting the entrance to cave-in and a Deathclaw named "Rawr" to jump me...at all. You'd figure I'd learn after a such a long string of unexpecteds throughout NV and the DLCs. What a stroke of luck though, to have a warhead magically appear among the debris, huh? :)

Oh, and to me personally, Rawr was a cakewalk compared to the Legendary DC. Of course, encountering him as a level 5 Courier might have had something to do with it. It ended very poorly (several times); I'll leave it at that.

OK, how exactly did you get enough ordnance at level 5 to get past 4 Deathclaws at Primm Pass and the cave entrance plus the non-legendary DCs inside?
[There's the Q-35 + ammo at Repconn or a sniper rifle in the 1st Recon tent + 10k .308 rounds from Contreras - but I'd imagine that you'd know about the legendary DC if you used those.]

Dude said he backed out of the cave and came back later after leveling up.

Gotta be honest, even as a level 27 character, I snuck back out of there myself.  My present character is melee- she and her combat knife are just no match for either the Legendary or the Mother at close quarters.  I think the Deathclaw Mother gave her ironic eyebrow right before taking her head off.

I'm replaying Dead Money now.... man I hate/ love that DLC.  It's so well done, but sooo many exploding heads.

Hunting warheads was incredibly gratifying. Go figure...probably because we got to blow them up! Sort of like shooting cars in FO3.
