Anyway I don't know how you normally finish LR, but if you decide to nuke the NCR or Legion, a new area will become available that's much like the Courier's Mile, filled with irradiated Legion/NCR troopers and insane amounts of loot.

  I didn't know that.  I'll have to dig out an old save with my NCR character.

You can even get one of the two most badass unmodded armors in the game:

The Armor of the 87th Tribe if you nuke the Legion, or the Scorched Sierra power armor if you nuke the NCR.

Well, to be perfectly honest there isn't as much loot in boxes and such as there is in the Courier's Mile, but there are the armors mentioned above as well as some unique grenade launchers. And of course all the enemies have great gear.

I didn't try walking into the crater yet. Rumor has it you just flat out die, which would make sense because the radiation there is just nuts.

Not a rumor. Radiation is 35 rads/second on the edge of the crater, spiking to 249 rads/sec at the center. You're dead in 3 or 4 seconds.

Cool! So far the worst thing I have experienced is the giant roboscorpion. Even with a good rad resistance, I was getting 23 rads/sec. I had to double-check my screen before I could believe it.

Heh, so they created an area just to say "nyah nyah, there is not enough Rad-X in the world."

In case anyone's interested, there are currently summer Steam sales and among them you can get New Vegas and DLCs for half their usual price. I took the opportunity to buy Lonesome Road, Honest Hearts and GRA, as recently I finally started playing this game. Have to admit I'm enjoying it quite a lot :)

I believe yesterday there was even a special time limited offer of 9,99 EUR for the Ultimate Edition (with all DLCs).

That's how I purchased my PC version...Steam sale for the entire package. I think I paid $15-$16 (US) for everything. Almost felt like I was stealing.

I paid full price for everything but I don't even regret it. Obsidian could have more of my cash. If they had made more DLC, I would have bought every one.

Agreed. I feel like I ripped them off.

Well, they got me twice. First time on 360 at full retail for the main game, and then each DLC full price, one-at-a-time; then a PC purchasae of the full package. No regrets at all...too good of a game!

I played the 360 first with DLCs then later bought the ultimate version for the PC. I wish I had bought the PC version right away but that's what happened.

I've just installed New Vegas Bounties trying to extend this playthrough just a little longer, since I really like this character. So far, it's been interesting. Each bounty gets more difficult as you accept them, and supposedly you get a reputation and start getting ambushed by bad guys after a while. But I've only completed two contracts, so I can't really comment yet with any credibility on that. So far, so good.

Anyone know anything about the Area 51 mod add-ons? There's two that I know of. Seems intriguing.

Again there's a cheap sale for New Vegas on Steam. 4,99 EUR for the core game, or 9,99 EUR for the Ultimate Edition. DLCs cheaper as well.

Finally finished Lonesome Road - holy carp that was hard as balls... Well maybe it was just me still getting adjusted to my new mouse. *SPOILERS* I was able to save both Legion and NCR territory at the cost of ED-E, which I kind of regret, I also convinced Ulysses to back down and we held the line against the Marked Men, which was rather satisfying. I don't like the look of the Courier armours though :/ I don't suppose there is a mod which gives them longer sleeves or something lol

New Vegas Bounties I is a badass add-on. Enjoyed it immensely. A great combat mod that's pretty hardcore for a single courier without companions (your choice, if you want to leave them behind) because of the increasingly difficult bosses, and ambushes you encoutner. Oh, and the story if very compelling. Sure, the voice acting needs work, but the guy really put effort into it and made a good story out of it with a few custom areas, and new named weapons, thrown in as a bonus.

Very disappointed that I can't DL Bounties II. Keeps coming up as an error on Nexus. But definitley, I recommend Bounties as a mod.

Oh, you want Bounties 2- I haven't finished it yet but so far it is better than the first. Hope he fixes that error or you could try installing it manually I guess.

Have you guys every played any of Puce Moose's FONV mods?
Tales of the burning sands.
Not that combat oriented but he makes up for it in great 'mini stories'! No quest markers and very little voice acting, it's all reading notes, terminals and puzzle solving but I still get engrossed in the characters. My friend and I played these mods and we really enjoyed them!
He also did a few of them for Fallout 3.

I haven't played them, but have seen them on Nexus. I'm trying to extend this playthrough out though, so I'm searching for any quality quest or area add-ons that'll extend the experience. I'll check that out.

And yep, I'll have to install Bounties II manually it appears.

Ah, to hell with it. I've taken this Courier as far as I can. Sometimes you just have to let go. I just wanted more to do while equipped and perked as a juggernaut. So be it. He had a great run.

Not real sure what build I'm going to go with on this one; I'll have to think on it. One thing I know for sure is that I'm doing the DLCs when I hit around level 20 on this run, so I still have alot of game ahead of me when complete. I know I'm going to villify fairly early with the Legion and nuke them into the Stone Age as well.

Playing Dead Money again for about the fifth time and I'm still finding things in it.

Well played sir/ma'am:

Funny thing about Dead Money:

The first time I played it, (don't get me wrong, it was an enjoyable DLC), but I was glad when it was done. I was...(I don't know)...exhausted(?)...maybe just fatigued after being immersed in the dark themes, when all was said and done. So prior to playing it again, I was dreading it. Pleasant surprise: it was more fun the second time. Long story short, I'm actually looking forward to playing it again.

Really want to see if I can squeak just one more gold bar out of there! Think I'll travel light on this one, and only bring out a holorifle and a couple of cosmic cleaning knives as trophies this time. It's the one DLC where you can leave things behind and know you still have loads of stuff back in the Mojave...all, but for the gold!!
