I could gush for hours on end, but suffice to say that in my humble opinion, this is one of the greatest games ever made and shows that Bethesda are not nearly as great as everyone says.(Obsidian blew them out of the ****ing water when it came to Fallout)
Man... I need to get a new Graphics Card so I can rebuy it on Steam and Mod the Crap out of it.

And yes, you need to get NV on PC. There simply is no substitute. I played it on 360 first, repurchased from Steam, modded the living hell out of it, and it's like a whole new (and even better, if that's possible) game.

Yeah, and the dimwits over at IGN put it at #89 on the top RPGs list. WTF-ever! Did you see the trash that was rated higher? Seriously...give me a break. They'd have done better puting no list out at all.

But seriously, as soon as I upgrade my Graphics Card, THIS GAME WILL BE MEIN TO MOD.
Til then, I'm probably gonna start a new playthrough later this week and do Realistic Mode.(No HUD, 1 Strength, Have to pick 2 traits, Hardcore Mode On, Hard or Very Hard Difficulty). Everyone should give it a try. Even though there are no mods, it's a whole new ball game.

You didn't expect much out of that list, did you? Much as I love both Skyrim and Fallout 3, to have them place in the top 10 and FNV be at 89 is a joke.
Well, you're right of course, I don't expect much from them. But seeing something like that in print from a supposed mainstream gaming outlet infuriates me to no end. Seems they skew toward jrpgs and other game types I've tried to get into, but could develop no interest in. It's just painfully obvious, and continues to be confirmed, that their (if they truly are representative of the overall gaming population--and I don't really think they are, but really only exist at this point to push big publisher's market messaging) and my criteria for "best" games are irreconcilable.

Tactical Combat Set (Heckler and Koch): http://newvegas.nexu....com/mods/36500
M-14: http://newvegas.nexu....com/mods/35041
EDIT: The developer is the same for both, so that might have something to do with it.

Oh, and if you're interested, I just checked Nexus, and found these two from my list are currently under review for some reason and as such, are not currently available. I don't have a clue as to why they're being reviewed; but they're still present in my game.

I saw that from some of them, I'm guessing they did some type of copyright infringement with those guns or something.

They're a commercial enterprise, and just like with the news media, they're so entwined with the people who make them money that that is really all that matters. It's disgusting but fortunately in gaming as in the news there are independents who do a better job. I trust reviews from some YouTube guys like Angry Joe and Razorfist more than a dozen commercial reviews. The only sad thing is that Metacritic relies on those so-called professionals too much, and that can affect game developers' bottom line, as it did with Obsidian and FNV. It's the same old story. The market leaders always have an advantage, unless they squander it, as EA is doing.Barbarossa2010 wrote...

It turns out that SystemRequirements.com was ****ing WRONG when it scanned my PC and said I couldn't run New Vegas!
According to the Official Site and some guys on Steam, my card, An Intel HD Graphics, IS supported and WILL run the game on Medium Settings!
I AM SO ****ING HAPPY RIGHT NOW I COULD EXPLODE!!!
Now, all that's left is to wait for a Steam Sale...

Me and my brother just started playing this again, and I was wondering if there was any particular Vault or Cave that have some good energy wep. loot?
Might want to try the REPCONN Headquarters (HQ is important, there's also another REPCONN facility - test site - out there - usually reached earlier) for the sweet Q-34 Plasma Modulator. It's a unique Plasma Rifle prototype and it's good. Not the strongest weapon out there, but has a good critical multiplier and good ammo efficiency (uses only one cell per shot). It's also usable very early, due to low attribute and skill requirements.
Van Graffs sell the classic and immortal Plasma Caster (past certain level, at least), which again has excellent ammo efficiency and very good damage per shot. It does have an 8 Str and 100 Energy Weapon as requirements though.
Other then that, there's an unique Gauss Rifle, YCS-130, carried by a bandit by a campfire in the northermost section of the map, a bit to the west, in the mountains. This one offers unrivaled long-range destructive force. Ammo efficiency is worse, though, as it consumes 5 cells per projectile

As for less spectacular mods, probably More Perks and Weapon Mods Expanded, since they both are 100% compatible with Nevada and the Sand Storm one.
Other than that, I'm not sure... Any non-visual mod suggestions? Compatible with Nevada of course.
Or is F.O.O.K. way better? IDK CHOICES.

You can always add either on, test it, see if it plays and enhances what you want, see if it conflicts with the other stuff you like; and then either keep it or delete it. For me, I just used my first playthrough to test mods while playing through the game.
BTW, for what it's worth: Project Nevada has about 256,000 unique DLs and over 5300 endorsements; and FOOK has almost 260,000 unique DLs with roughly 1400 endorsements.
Eh, just put on the one you think you want, and test it out for a while. You can always uninstall it.

The shooting mechanics are fine tuned and feel really polished compared to the Vanilla Version. And So Much More Equipment! VARIETY FTW.
I will say that, if you run Nevada, don't even try A World Of Pain. My game worked perfectly with all the above mods, so I said, One More Couldn't Hurt Right?
AWOP replied with an LOL NOPE and crashed instantly, corrupting poor Ulrich and forcing me to start anew.(God Rest Your Soul, you magnificent ugly bastard.)
But yeah, WMX is great, even if it makes GRA redundant.

Plus, I really like the way WMX integrates the crafting system into mods for weapons like the melee class, where you have to hunt the materials and actually craft things like sharpening, grip and tempering kits, which tend to give you approriate bonuses in most cases for the effort.
While I like the idea of GRA overall, the GRA weapons mods suck because you have to have a GRA labelled weapon to install it. Total BS.
EDIT: Oh, and noted, on Project Nevada. Sounds right up my alley. I'll be installing it soon.
EDIT 2: I'd really like to see a detailed gunsmithing crafting mechanic added to the Fallout universe.
