Clicky for minor spoilers.Finished it now. In short: Was sceptical first, changed later, ending was great.
It's true that OWB is very LOL!! but it is also pretty dark, imo. Stuff like
the [spoiler] or the [spoiler], etc.
aren't that easy stuff. Also I found it nice that even the way the story
is made up (50s pulp Science!) is kind of explained in the end why it
is how it is.
I really like that DLC, needed around 8 to 9 hours
to finish it and I haven't explored everything yet. (Still like Honest
Hearts the most, though. Simply because of the more serious tone and
the atmosphere of Zion. It just totally hit the nail for me.)
Now I am really tensed to see Lonesome Road. The expectations are very high. Hope it can deliver.

Why does it have to tie into the main story? New Vegas is a very sandbox game, there's no reason everything has to be related. It's fun and interesting in its own right.Upsettingshorts wrote...
I haven't gotten it but I have a hard time seeing why I should be interested at all. The premise seems so distant from what I'd want to experience in New Vegas (What does it have to do with the NCR? Brotherhood? Legion? Vegas?) that I can't bring myself to care about it. Tell me why I should care, and I mean that honestly. Because I want to care.
That said, I think the events of OWB could be of significance to the Mojave, but it depends how much importance you put in the epilogue. Plus it adds to the player character's story, which I'd put above any one plot within the game.

I didn't say it had to, I'm just not compelled to resume my game if it's not.

Ah, that might be the problem. I don't really look at the Courier as a character.

I have a question about this DLC. Did the enemies stop respawning after finishing the DLC? I finished it yesterday and decided to continue killing the lobotomites and those weird skeletons so I could get their weapons, repair them and then sell them to make lots of money. However they stopped respawning. Is it a glitch or something?
SPOILERS
I'd like to know what people did at the end. I killed all the scientists except for Mobius. They performed horrible experiments on people, cities, prisoners, etc. I don't think they can be trusted even if they promise not to perform any experiments.
SPOILERS END HERE
Could be a glitch. After finishing I went out to retreive some of my stashes of scrap metal/etc and had a few engagements with Securitrons and lobotomites outside the robo-deconstruction site. I've had a few random encounters with lobotomites and Mr. Gutsy's/Handy's just wandering about, but engagements have dropped off dramatically.

They have done an excellent job with all the DLC and even if Lonesome Road doesn't prove as good as we're hoping it will be, this will make a kick-ass Collector's Edition when they're done.

I think they wanted something more light-hearted after Dead Money and Honest Hearts which both have some touching personal dramas and for Dead Money a really heavy atmosphere. Although it's really more black humor than light. I am finding I don't care about the main story as much as I'm having fun with the exploration. One thing I missed in the base game was that a lot of the areas didn't have the same kind of character and humor as FO3. OWB rewards exploration and there's actually quirky and macabre bits in the different locations.

This^ so much. I felt the same way about Vegas in the main game as well. Mainly because I felt it wasn't so original in graphics, gameplay and what perks, items, etc, were used in the sub-menus. I felt like I was playing FO3 out in the west. I liked that it carried over a decent amount of the themes from the first two Fallouts (Fallout 1 is absolutely the best, IMO), but I just couldn't get into it because I felt Vegas was too familiar with Fallout 3 in atmosphere, gameplay and looks. I am hoping, whoever does Fallout 4 does a different storyline and location, and I suspect they'll (be able) to use the game engine that is being used for Skyrim, since Bethesda owns the rights to Fallout.

Well you can find out about Christine, Father Elijah, and Ulysses who all ended up at Big MT.

The epilogue said something about the trauma harnesses being released and the cyberdogs sent out into the waste to patrol towns. That sounded to me like those enemies don't spawn anymore.Barbarossa2010 wrote...

Plus, I love my Stealth Suite Mk. II (even if it does get me addicted to Med-X every two seconds).

Muggy and the toaster were pretty funny. I never figured out how to work the biological unit, though...?

I would take it off, but that suit knows how to lay guilt trip.
Did you find the seed packages?

Yeah, I feel terribly guilty for not wearing it. One time it was still in a mood with me the next time I put it on...crusadeonacid wrote...

I found all this dried crap at the botanical gardens, and when I first fired up the bio unit it removed them all from my inventory, but he keeps saying "still waitin for that seed baby."crusadeonacid wrote...
