@Giggles,

The main game and all DLCs are .esm files, which are considered master files, and have to be loaded first. All (well most) of your mods are .esp files, which are plug-ins, and are meant to be loaded after the master files. Mods loading after DLC is good.

Thanks!

I just went simple really, wanted to avoid mod conflicts and such.
So I just went with Mission Mojave, Perk Every Level, and More Trader Caps.

Will start playing tonight!

I love the Legion...

Seriously, it's pretty hard to find much redeeming there...and I've tried. Just can't seem to make it happen. I really can't see how a female Courier could ever side with them.

Singular question then.

Do you glance at the Legion from the perspective of FO or your own?

If Slavery, Mass killings and Patrichal beliefs offend you personally, that is fine but within FO unless if you were born into a society where the exception was the norm you would have exprience with all those things either in the negative or the positive but they would be more then rough concepts to be gleaned from books or online websites.

Well i look at it from this perspective, Democracy killed the old world and thus the system of governence to rule it in the future must not be of the same make or you merely inivte history to repeat it self.

Corruption, Self interest and Greed are what "Freedom" invites, along with disolution, poverty and suffering.

The Legion model however is far more suited to FO then the NCR in my eye considering that they are a state that exists solely to contiuning existing, Slavery, Servitude, Thralldom and militant expansion Harken back to the days of conquest bringing the resources needed for continued existance.

You can agrue that this system has failed in both our reality and their own but considering the only alternative is the failing system that is a decade or three from collapse? I would sway to the Legion merely because as long as Caesar exists, Flagstaff stands the Mojave becomes theirs.

There will be stability, Order and Peace.

A Generation will come the soldiers born from it will begin the final purge of the NCR from the world, Its broken Carcass will be the fuel that sustains the legion until it reaches the ocean.

And once the Empire is firmly cemented it can continue to grow, to expand and find purpose.

The Mojave grant the Legion everything it needs while the NCR is going to die regardless; Personally i hope Beth makes the decision to make Legion victory canon in their universe if they ever decide to make a canon victory for the second battle of Hoover Dam.

In a broad sense perhaps; That was what led the Superpowers to war amongst themselves during the Resource Wars.

But the greed and self interest fostered by the insanely corrupt Pre War American Government certainly didn't help the situation anyway.

Cannot comment on the Chinese Considering they have never really been overly explained in FO as of yet.

My agrument is allowing the system used to destroy the world will merely result in its collapse once again and given the NCR is dying a slow and lingering death that really doesn't disprove my notion no?

Its Corruption and overexpansion have killed it as any war with the Legion.

That's not what I got out of that. Philosophies aside, Fallout is saying it's the same shtick over and over again, this time by different players. Different ways to run society but overall what they want is dominance and resources. I mean aside from how one rules society, both NCR and CL are conglomerations of tribes and townships. One formed out of trade and the other by conquest. Both were also created as a need to survive. Funny that they saw models in the past to build their societies, but they were all fallen civilizations.

In the Legion you rise upon how far you elevate yourself, in the lands of the bear you rise based upon how much coin you have or how much sway with the Senate you have.

In Many ways a Brahim Baron has far more power thena General or even the President in their society considering that unlike in the land of the legion, Money not duty to society talks.

And Well considering the universe we are within.

Every Pre War civilization is fallen.

Besides a civilization having fallen doesn't automatically discount their ideals or notions, However in the NCR's case their choice in my eye is inferior considering that Freedom isn't nessarily the end all to problems considering it just inivtes more then there were to begin with.

No, a fallen civilization doesn't discount ideas or notions, but high minded ideas don't necessarily help them survive.

Well, I'm thinking tonight I'll be visiting my old Dunmer friend from Tamriel. Err...Zion...Joshua Graham.

(If you missed my reference, Joshua Graham is voiced by Keith Szarabajka, the same VA as some of the Dunmer in Skyrim).

I picked up the Reference! :D

It sort of became apparent once you talked to a few and realized that their voice had odd similarities to a person back in FO: NV.

There is a lot of crossover between the games. I've also heard some Njada Stonearm, Maven Black-Briar, etc., etc. There are many more that are escaping me at the moment. It's always cool to pick familiar voices up out of a crowd.

Anyway, I think I will start HH tonight. This time, I actually have a good idea of what to bring with me. And I will be making my own Gecko-backed armor! Huzzah!

Last time, I started HH right after downloading all of the DLC, which meant that I had just gotten all of the Courier's Stash stuff when I loaded my run. So I took seriously crappy gear with me to Zion, because I didn't know any better. Posted Image

Ha ha, I was visiting Joshua last night, too, and took an almost identical screenshot.

He's so sexy. I can't explain it, but that "yeesss" he does during the final quest... It must be awkward for a hetero male player.

So is this when the bombs dropped?

I am so excited.

Going to do my first PT in a few years on Fallout New Vegas.
Also Fallout 3 is getting divorced from GFWL! So more good Fallout news!

I am going to try and see what works maybe get into playing Caravan and such.
Should be fun!

... if you're a man.

All that civilization building is BS. Eddie's not a Roman. He's just a raider.

The NCR is not the only alternative. False dichotomy. But hell yes, I'd take a median level of corruption with some basic freedom and decency over that pack of rapist torturing nutjobs.

It's the voice, Keith has a very sexy voice when it's not compressed or changed(Harbinger)

Plus Joshua is a complete badass. I wished we could have had him in the party longer :crying:

Oh yeah, the VA who does Njada Stonearm does some of the NCR and Boomer females. I noticed her this time around because she's the empress in Dishonored so I've learned to pick out her voice. She's also incidentally nearly all the female voices on South Park, heh (Cartman's mom, Shelly, etc.).

You get some pretty good gear in that DLC, especially if you're guns or unarmed.

My Courier walks around with enough ordinance to send Caesar and all his frat boys to the moon. She makes the Boomers proud. The hardest part is keeping your followers and allies safely out of the way while you lay down the hurt.

Best quest ever, right here.

edit- I just looked up Maven's VA on IMDB, she's listed as "Dead Horse females" in Fallout New Vegas. Guess she didn't get many lines. Just "oot."

truely? Considering he built a society that is capable of waging war on the same level as the NCR and even managing to fight them to a standstill and even in some cases win against them, I would state that his model is at least effective at producing a military and supplying them.

That said we have no idea of the state of Arizonia, Colorado, Utah or New Mexico i have my own idea's and speculation but that aside we have no insight into things beyond the Mojave apart from the scant people from there telling us about what Caesar has built.

But just from those brief glimmers i can believe at least, a society was built.

But moving on to the meat of your point.

If your a man yes.

That generally is the point people stand behind when they oppose the Legion, Gender Equality is non existant for them.

But i must address these other points first.

Freedom? Decency? Freedom to pay their taxes, be conscripted to anex as much territory as the Senate can stomach, have your money stolen from you by Bandits when the Military is commited further into the Heartland, Leaving it undefended.

Yes you have plenty of freedom in the NCR.

The Freedom to be broken, starve and get shived by a Bandit and have your head decorate a gas station fort.

Decency though? Really? You view their society as decent? It does whatever it needs to do to aquire wealth, land and resources, it like any state is far from decent.

Now to the final point.

You do realize that in the Legion's capacity for Warriors, Slaves and Workers you will need a constant influx of women to maintain needed breeding equibrillium.

Not the nicest of practices but understandable when you are bringing order, stability and peace to that much territory.

The Legion is a society meant to survive and thrive in the post war element; It isn't meant for polite and civil notions of a dead world, Pre War notions of equality, Fairness and what have you weren't even applied heavily back before the bombs droppped, they have no place in the world afterwards.

Definitely. The 12.7mm submachine guns are pretty great. I will be making sure to pick up a hefty amount of those. And the Survivalist Rifle saved my butt last time, as I hadn't brought any rifles that had decent range or a scope. I have no idea how I forgot to bring at the very least a Sniper Rifle.

I loved that lost calf quest. That place was a veritable maze, so I was pretty relieved when I found my way back. There were admittedly a couple of areas in that camp that I never did figure out how to get to.

What's so impressive about that?  If you're willing to kill, steal and terrorize, that's far more effective than the NCR's annexation method.

I have no love for the NCR, mind you. Like I said, that's a false dichotomy. Who needs them.

If your a man yes.

It's only one and not the worst of Caesar's sins. I'm not even going to address your other points because they're all self-serving means to prop up the egos of a few megalomaniacal men. There are no ideals there, it's not a society, it's a big prison run by little boys who like to tear the wings off flies.

I did enjoy that quest, giving it fruit and letting it follow you was awesome i end up taking it every time even though doesn't add anything its just a cute little pet for the courier though.
