Huh so does Vulpes go back to the Fort after he gives you the Mark of Caesar?

I want to know because I want to kill him this game, but read that if you do it in Vegas it makes the Legion hostile again.

The Silver Rush in Freeside is an EW shop but it's a pain to have all your weapons taken when you go in and out, so I avoid it except for quest reasons.

It might be a bug, but when I did part of their questline I no longer had to give up my weapons to go in.

Oh, maybe. I've done that before but I don't like working for them.

Time for a little Boone swoon:

I bought that Health Regen augment....walked outside got ambushed by a group.
Then walked back inside selling it and buying the DT augment.

Thanks Santa Caesar!

Ya know, I hate playing with companions in such games.

Last thing I need is some stupid AI starting to shoot when I want to go for a shady sands shuffle. I don't think I ever used a companion, not even dog.

So I got my whole plan laid out.

I am going to recruit all the followers and complete their quests, as well as doing a few more things before wiping Caesar out.

I am going to have Boone wait just outside of Cottonwood Cove, and take EDE into the Fort.
Will listen to Caesar's whole spiel about me being a pain in the toga, than use the Terrifying Presence Perk.

Then I will console Boone to him, RPing that he was using a stealth boy the whole time.
Phew.

I really just want to hear Caesar's whole lecture on how I was stupid to come before him.
Not so stupid to not travel with a first recon dude under cloak, with an advanced eye bot and my hold out weaponry however.

Sucker!

METAGAMING FTW.

No doubt. Like Giggles, I just wanted to visit Caesar with Terrifying Presence, since I've worked hard to get it...

Eh, now I'll just go scorched earth to Cottonwood Cove all the way into Caesar's Tent...my normal playthrough. Wanted to at least feign trying something different...Boone f-ed that all up!...oh well...

...oh, hey look...marksman carbines!

I have to stop reading this thread.

It's making me want to fire up another new playthrough again.

I JUST FINISHED THE LAST ONE, LIKE, A MONTH AGO, DAMMIT!

And I'm on lolPS3, so my system starts having seizures around fires or flashing lights after the save file reaches roughly the 12MB threshold...

Wah! Image IPB

But I'm thinking I might start another new Courier run tonight. Haven't done Terrifying Presence perk before, but really want to now after the last few pages. Do the sayings/reactions change any depending on if you're a male Courier or female Courier?

^I feel your pain. Gosh, its so hit and miss, it's just hard to say what the problem could be. For me FO3 had issues of multi-core processing which the .ini fix seemed to correct; for New Vegas it was corrupted saves, which to be honest, I really don't know how I fixed.

For FO3, here's a link with a suggestion a very good friend of mine recommended to me:

The thread has fix tips from others as well. Best of luck.

[...] the Legion even being needed to begin with

And this is your logical fallacy.

The only thing that needs the Legion is the Legion.

:P I used to get that claim alot during my debates but instead of merely blowing it off as i normally would given that i already know the statement wasn't what you claim i will instead reply.

If you care to explain how that statement follows the rules of Fallacies i will be interested because it wasn't an illegitimate argument or irrelevant point given that it was directly linked to the topic at hand and my entire post up to that point was in fact giving them my "evidence" of claim, as much so as speculation on a fictional universe can allow of course.

Furthermore if in your perspective my agrument in this case for a strong stabilizing body needed to pacify the wasteland doesn't attribute this to the immense martial body that the Legion represents that is your own perspective and i will not attempt to sway it but dismissing it out of hand and offhandedly labeling it a logical fallacy when in truth it violated NONE of the requirements of said slander isn't something i would go around slinging.

._.

So in conclusion if you can present your evidence of my claim fitting the bill so to speak do so, if not i would kindly ask you not to merely label agruments you disagree with in such a insulting manner.

Easy enough.

Keep in mind that the Fallout games are about what they presume as human nature. Our nature to compete against each other aswell as our nature to survive, endure and return to a state of competing, a.k.a. the vicious circle of war.

It is thus only natural to argue based on other human natures, which in this point would be the social aspect. Humans are family based social entities. That means they will inevitably band together on a small scale. And having our competing nature on top of that, pragmatism compels humans to band together some more wherever it offers more advantages that disadvantages. In short, if a region, any region where humans live in, needs a stabilizing body, it will form itself on its own accord and be made up by people who want it.

The idea that an outside force, for example the Legion or the NCR, would need to impose itself as a stabilizing force can only be born out of their own perception. That they think this region needs a stabilizer as according to their own values, which would of course be them. It's a self referential reasoning. It's not necessarily wrong from their perspective, if the NCR wants to impose a civilized democratic culture, they need to act as the facilitator. Or if the Legion wants to impose a strong, pure culture without corruption, they need to act as the facilitator too.

The rather obvious fallcy here is that facilitating does not equal imposing. Unless it comes from indigenous sources, any idea someone tries to impose on someone else, be it by force or persuasion, will change. And if said indigenously warped perception of what their ideals are/should be enters the aforementioned body, it will create tension. Tension in turn changes, or at worst ruptures a large social construct.

The whole "what will the Legion become" argument you've had other the last pages in this thread is exactly that in a nutshell, just percieved from another focal standpoint of your debate.

So your point in a very base sense is because i am agruing as an outside observer and merely offering my own perspective on said fictional events as i said in the very post you replied to.

it therefore becomes invalid because i am making the agrument of being FOR or AGAINST certain fictional factions within the setting?

Furthermore Your perspective may not equate forceful submission with willing acceptance of said ideals or position or what have you but that somehow doesn't magically negate the perspective of viewing as so "illogical" It may be to yourself or what yourself view from your own perspective but Logic as by its very nature differs from the individual.

There is no Uniform "Logic".

So in conclusion to this i must admit rather well worded and obviously thought otu agrument; In essence our agruments are both "Logical" To our own perspective, But to your perspective due to how you view in example to this agrument the imposement of civilization, it would in essence build to an agrument for Logical fallicy while in my own perspective.

It does no such thing.

Is there a vendor I can buy like 10,000 rounds of 9mm ammo? I dont even use Vance's SMG that often and I'm always running low on ammo.

Also where's a good place to get duct tape .. aside from stealing it in Novac?

Do you have other ammo you could break down, to make 9mm? I think vaults are usually a good place to just find it laying around. Unless I'm thinking of 10mm...which I probably am. I'm really not sure. I always break it down, since I don't use it (I stick to rifles).

Check vendors, too. Lots of times, they have ammo parts that are free.

Duct tape is everywhere. Especially when you're not looking for it. :)

Have you tinkered with reloading at all? It's a crafting mechanic that's a little hard to get into at first, but once you get close to it, you're game will revolve around it. I remember having a terrible time keeping .308 ammo in my inventory, so I just turned to reloading and hoarded my casings like crazy and found the Junk Rounds perk. Also vendors normally have casings in their inventories and they're free, so look for them. I make almost all of my own ammo and explosives now.

Powder and primers are available at any Gunrunners vendors. If you take the Junk Rounds perk, you can make ammo out of tin cans and scrap metal! All you need is the casing. You can breakdown scrap metal at a reloading bench and make lead. You can also breakdown ammo you don't use, to recycle into ammo type you do use. As you fire your weapon, a certain percentage of that ammo you fire goes back into your inventory as empty casings....just make sure you keep the casings you get in your inventory, find at a vendor, or find in containers.

9mm and 10mm rounds are probably the most dropped ammo varieties in the game. But as for vendors, Contreras at Camp McCarran, Cliff at Novac, Chet at Goodsprings will all have 9mm ammo. The Gunrunners vendors will have it as well. The vendor at the bar at the Mojave Outpost should have some too. Make sure you purchase your favorite ammo type in small amounts whenever your at a vendor that has it.  Loot every body you can after an engagement, check every ammo can, trunk and container you come across, and if you still run out, switch to your next favorite weapon, preferably one that has abundant ammo available.

SMG's are ammo hogs for sure. Like the other dudes said, I would do some reloading. Otherwise you just have to make the rounds of vendors as their stock resets. I have to do that for some scarce ammo like 40mm grenades.

^ New Vegas is definitely a game that encourages crafting, hence the benches everywhere. As you keep playing and increasing your skills, you'll find more recipes you can make. Whether they're for the campfire, a bench, Jack's chems, they're a big part of the game. They're not limited to Repair skill either; some depend on Science, Explosives, Survival, etc. If you look at the options while crafting, you can see what is required to make what you want, and level up appropriately. It's not all about combat skills.

For you, it might be a bit overwhelming, since you started your first time with all of the DLC installed. Some of the items you see in your crafting lists contain ingredients only available in DLC locations. Like...if you were going to make your armor gecko-backed, the only location to find green geckos is in Zion. And Sacred Datura Root is there as well. Cloud Residue is at the Sierra Madre. Etc.

Also, for perks, I'd get Vigilant Recycler, if you're still using Energy Weapons. And Junk Rounds. Jury Rigging, too, for your armor and guns - the nice thing about that is you can pick up any armor that is the same weight class as what you are wearing, and improve it. So if you're wearing light armor, you can improve it with nearly any light armor you pick up. Definitely a must-have perk for me. Same type benefit for your weapons, too.

It's a lot to take in, I know. Honestly, there were things I never thought of doing, either, until I got some great advice from our mutual friends. :D

Here lies Caesar, a man most vile
He got real far, but failed on the last mile.
At least he got to make a certain sniper smile.

Also waiting to meet him and hearing him get all pissy was worth it.
Before I blew his brains out and ran out of the fort with my arse on fire that was!

Ah good times

Why did you have to clip so horribly on the female courier to the point I couldn't stand using it?
