BTW, anyone have a bug with the Sink's central intelligence where you get no caps when selling items to it? I can purchase from it, and everything works fine. But, I sold a boat load of stuff and got no caps for it after completing OWB. Had to reload, leave, and go to my normal traders in New Vegas to actually get paid for my junk.

That central intel unit currently has about 35,000 caps I'd like ot get my hands on.

Yep, just like Old World Blues leans toward intelligence and science focused characters...yeah I was struggling there.  My Courier wasn't the brightest boy going in, but those Science Suits and Mentats sure helped.  Obsidian/Beth is really good about littering the landscape with augmentation and aid for those skills you might need some help with (I think I had about 120 tins of Mentats at the end of the DLC.  Made a few caps there Image IPB).

I like how they focus certain DLCs on skills I might not otherwise use. It actually forces me to level them up a bit, instead of just plowing all my points into small guns, explosives, lockpick, repair and associated perks.  These DLCs actually forced me to round out my character a bit better than I normally would, and use many skills I often ignore in FO games.

They do do a nice job of putting some stuff in to augment where you might be lacking but my smooth talking gun toting courier had a hell of a time dealing with the ghouls.

All and all the DLCs coming out are excellent. Taken the better aspects of FO3s DLC The Pit and Point Lookout. They are seperate stories but expand on the main games world and characters.

@Deathworm
Ya different strokes for different folks. My first two playthrus were just stock and reaching max level. It was a damned chore tho since they were right after release and I got slammed by the bug/glitch/crash stick worse then any game I have ever played.
For me at that point it really was a broken game and I didnt pick it up again untill a few weeks before old world blues was going to release. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better now and I just decided to drop the level cap.
I do try to keep myself on track now a little better but those empty triangles on my compass/// like a bee to honey. Damned ADHD.

I didn't have any problems with not getting the Caps for things I sold at the Sink, so that's a weird one. Had more than a few times when OWB crashed when I tried Fast Travelling, though.

And, yeah...those little empty triangles...I can get so off track sometimes chasing them! Good things the markers for Quest-related places are so big! lol

Empty triangles taunt me by their very presence.  They beckon me to turn them solid.
Hell, empty triangles are the reason I end up with a 100 hours as opposed to 10 hours in a Fallout game! Image IPB

I dont keep up with them but my hope they have been moved back to work on them a little more. My worry is there will be no more after this next one and will have to wait for Fallout mid-west or FO4.... maybe a Fallout the white lands. Set up in Canada with mutant mooses... moosi. Whatever the plural is for moose.

They should make a poll for the setting of the next Fallout.  I vote Cuba.

The plural of Moose is...Moose...unless you're in a Cartoon...then it's mooseses...

VoiceofPudding: I've only played Old World Blues, but I really liked it...everyone has their favorite, which leads me to believe they're all pretty good. I'm kind of hoping that there's a big sale on Steam for Labor Day here in the U.S. but that's probably hoping for a little too much.

I've played all DLC released thus far. Personally I like them all. Each has their own strong points. But, if I had to rank them, I'd say:

1. Old World Blues.
2. Dead Money.
3. Honest Hearts.

Hope that helps.

LOL!

I'm almost ready to break down and pay FULL PRICE for the 2 DLC that I don't have yet...

I haven't paid full price for a Game all year! It's been a pretty good year!

Think I may wait it out and see if anything goes on sale for the Labor Day Weekend here in the U.S. though.

Thats is probably the best idea. If not this weekend and your deadset on looking for a good deal maybe waiting till the next DLC is getting close to being released they might do a deal for that.

Actully speaking of other places for the next game Canada is a no go. From some files I stumbled on in New Vegas, it seems Canada or least the border regions is totally gone. Lifeless. Whic makes sense given how the Canadian population is bunched up within a small area, and that in Fallouts time line large numbers of US troops were stationed to keep the population centers, and pipeline under control. The Chinese couldn't pass that target up. So unless you want to play as an Eskimo hunting down Feral Canadian Ghouls have fun. Though I would like to see some other regions of the US, or China given its role. Though it would be nice to stumble in a bunker with an intact satcom network, and "see" what the state of the whole world is, more so how it even looks now.

And also this is the last DLC and its been finished, so there won't be any put offs. It was only even delayed now as Xbox didn't want it screwing up the Summer of Arcade and COD's latest expansion dates.

I hate you!

I should brush up on the "lore" and see about that Canada thing but it does make sense. I do think if there are anymore future installments of Fallout its still going to be in the U.S.A. Seems like they have been moving towards the middle. If we ignore Fallout tactics.

Kinda had a neat brainstorm about having DLC's at the least that show us how the rest of that world has held up. Maybe something like they have done with the NewVegas ones. Several DLCs about Europe. A self contained story but they all add to the whole areas situation.

And ya the CHinese setting Fallout was in the back of my mind but I allready put forth a couple ideas I didnt want to steal anyone elses thunder :P

That would be nice, or like a spin off game for the next one, or at least a large expansion that worked as a "Spinoff" that had you playing as a few set PC's across some regions of the world to get a general idea of whats going on. Maybe like, have it where Bethseda records the Data, and based off the most popular choices, makes up the setting for the next game off of that. I mean I love the scale of the games. But...fallout has at least recently not been like the first ones. Where as in the First two you went across the South East, and midwest, where what you did had huge wide reaching impacts that showed what happend on a huge scale. Its turned more into "Whats happening around town mate?".

I want to know what happend overall. For there to be so many habital places and populations in the states, and so many various factions, some of which mimic the US, others the Mob, The Confederacy seems to be running around in the South again, and even yet the Roman Empire shows up in America, what is the rest of the world like?

Has a Neo-**** Movement or a resurgant Kaiser taken over Germany, and is fighting the French right now? Are Communist and Royalist fighting each other in Russia now? Are the Chinese planning to strike back? Maybe in Japan you have a Samurai based faction fighting to restore the Empire. Hell we don't even know what the landscape looks like now. I mean, if this was just China and the US throwing Nukes, and being nuked its no big deal so to speak. But from the Lore EVERYONE started launching or being launched at. Even Mexico which seemed to have not even been in the War got nuked.

Whats of note is in the case of Europe, is it was in a huge fight at the time, Versus most of Africa, the Mid east, and eachother based on national grounds. For all we know some Islamic force might control most of Souther Europe and is currently fighting a Paple State set up in Rome.

But as with Canada, I think alot of your smaller populated, or in some cases, smaller land area nations and cultures, are just gone.

I hate you even more now. Its almost like Bethesda needs to drop the ES series and start dual deveolping fallout games to cover it all.

ES is all nice but the mide 50's cold warish apocolypse is such a fresher place. Still getting skyrim

I wonder if there will be waffle irons.

And I'm hoping Skyrim will go away from the awful gameplay mechanics of Oblivion. But from what I've heard, it will. Morrowind had great exploration and the leveling system wasn't great but didn't actually hold you back. In general I felt it was much more interesting than Oblivion.

As for the DLCs for New Vegas... When do I get one that will allow me to spend even a small fraction of my caps? I have insane weapons and as many implants as I can possibly have. Feels like there's no point in looting for buying anything else anymore.

Yeah Skyrim seems to go with what you use the most getting leveled and then you level up from that. So no picking around or slow leveling.

And @addiction. Same, but fallout has alot of questions left, problem is with the scale of it, just so much to cover that I really don't see how, unless some randomnized mega, pick your own lands adventure is made, which isn't possible really. But yeah I'm just hoping the next game isn't in the same region, though Bethseda is strongly hinting that it will be.

If your wanting to buy alot of stuff I'ld say Old World Blues so far, Termonkanden.

Guys, Fallout is about the U.S.'s 50's atmosphere not Canada's or Cuba's or whatever other country. If you guys want a Fallout type game based in a different country, you would have to go to another I.P. like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I don't know why anyone, well other than Bethesda, would destroy established lore by moving everything to another country/location. Bethesda did this horribly because it made absolutely no sense. I just hope that Lonesome Roads is going to be an epic ending to an epic series, if Obsidian doesn't get the license back. I know I'm not going to purchase another abomination like Fallout: 3.

Because some of us what to know what happend to the world at large? And yeah well nice if you don't buy the next one if they spread out. Makes it easier for me to get a copy.

And Obsidian isn't that good, all they do is copy what the previous game had (Fallout 3, KOTOR) and adds a little to it. So yeah I'm not sad at all its back with Bethseda, whom they work with in anycase.

And that is a long holotape. Ah well 14 more days. Least I got space Marine to tide me over now.
