For some reason they occasionally just send out one guy to charge you while the rest hang back sucking their thumbs. I learned to go hunting for the other 4 or 5 after a while.Barbarossa2010 wrote...
BTW, I'm doing a playthrough on my XBOX 360 at present. I have to re-format my HD and replace a couple parts on my PC...let me restate that, my good friend will be replacing parts and reformatting my HD.
I'm just like, wow...this is comparatively awful...no weapon mods, no companion mods, no visuals, no PC performance...but hey, at least I'm playing the game. It's weird though, I'm vilified with the Legion, (thanks to having Boone along right on the edge of the wrong part of the map); so when the assassin squads attack, I'm finding them far less aggressive. They just sit back and fire at you, with maybe one legionnaire charging you with a super sledge or something. Is that something peculiar to console versions? It's been three years since I've played NV on my Xbox. On my several PC playthroughs, once vilified, the Legion assassin squads charge right at you with take no prisoners ultra-aggression and are in close quarters with you before you know it.

Wearing Power Armor with a Plasma Rifle.
Sometimes it pays to hold off on doing quests.

Then I have now finally talked to him and just have to say...that makes sense I guess.
Still I enjoy listening to how everything House says drips with ego its kinda amusing.
Also I did just wipe out Caesar with Boone again....I cant seem not to do that.

Well yes actually.
Mr House and Boone say that the Legion will outlast Caesar..for a while.
House speciffically states that the Legion will deify Caesar and try to take the dam in his memory. Then fall into warring bands of thugs fighting it out later.

If you don't remember Silus, he's the Legion centurion that Boyd has locked up at McCarran.
Also, out of sheer curiosity, I decided to try and get the manufacturing schematics out of the Gunrunner's compound for McLafferty. All I can say is, if you think you're going to get a ton of weapon loot...forget it. You get nothing really and since I failed sneak, I had to fight and the guards and gunsmiths have the highest DT of any characters I've yet encountered in New Vegas.
Bottom line, not worth the effort, so I reloaded and left things alone. Although the robot at the kiosk and Alexander at the 188 will not even notice you just demolished their organization, and will still sell you GRA inventory. Disappointing actually.

Because Lanius is still alive, the Legion will not crumble RIGHT NOW, which is also showen in pro Legion, dead Caesar. The legino will fall apart though aftert he battle no matter what if Caesar is dead. Killing Caesar just changes dialog and some quest endings, and feels awesome.happy_daiz wrote...

Sounds like fun, actually. So by killing him, you probably have to kill every last person in his camp, yes?

Yeah pretty much.
But that is the fun part!
Blasting into a heavily armed camp and demolishing everything in it!

There's no way around it. Dead Caesar means everyone on Fortification Hill turns hostile, except slaves, children, and the trader. My normal route is to wipe out everyone when I get off the boat, clear all of Fortification Hill, then enter the tent and finish Caesar and his Frumentarii off.

If you fail the NCR Quest Dont Tread on the Bear can you not help the NCR in any way anymore?
Like not just the MQ but the sidequests as well?

The weird thing was that I lost karma when I took weapons from their tents. How is it "evil" to confiscate weaponry from the most violent and oppressive faction in the Mojave?

(And FO3 won't even start properly, though I did find a couple possible workarounds in the Bethesda support forums.)

I didn't usually go to talk to Caesar, but in my most recent playthrough I did something in the bunker with all the robots that made everybody turn hostile. I forget exactly what it was, but when I came back up the stairs everybody's marker had turned red and I found myself in a firefight with anyone who saw me after that.

Yeah, I feel your pain. You can loot bodies and suffer no loss because combat casualties have no ownership; but many containers are considered "owned," so looting them nets karma loss. It's a faction thing in New Vegas. I go through it all the time when I vilify with the Powder Gangers and take down the NCRCF. Good news is that the karma loss per item is extremely small. If I need, it take it.
Who cares what the PGs or Legion think anyway!
As far as your hostile targets, it could be anything. I don't think there's anything that can happen down there, since they have no knowledge of it anyway, that could turn the Legion hostile. Probably a bug...a bug I personally wouldn't worry about since Caesar's days are always numbered in my playthroughs.

Also, has anyone else had an issue with the background music not playing on Windows 8? I hadn't actually played NV or FO3 since getting a new laptop, and I discovered this problem when I installed NV to finish my last playthrough.
(And FO3 won't even start properly, though I did find a couple possible workarounds in the Bethesda support forums.)
Yeah, I wondered how well FO3 and NV would play on Windows 8, since I was thinking about getting a new computer. As it is, they are both challenges to run on Win7 (well, they're hard for me to run at least). So, I assume the problems only get worse as we move along in operating systems.
Not currently running Win8, so can't help there.

I don't know for sure, but I assume you could still help Contreras, and make out like a bandit, or the NCR soldier trying to retrieve her husband's remains, and things like that. Anything that is strictly NCR factioning, I assume would probably shut off.

One alternative, though I don't know if it is really an alternative for everyone would be to use Tale of Two Wastelands to get to play FO3. I myself don't use it anymore, got tired of the hassle when running it with other mods, having to convert FO3 mods and I'm not really that much into the CW, and rather just play New Vegas anyway.

My vague recollection is that I was using a Stealth Boy to do something for which I didn't have Caesar's official permisison. Maybe I told him I wasn't going to destroy the bunker and then just went over there anyway, or tried to retrieve some of the weapons they'd taken away? Anyway, it didn't really bother me - I had zero intention of siding with Caesar and went there just to explore the bunker and see if I could help the slaves escape, so I kind of figured I'd end up fighting the Legionaries at some point.

That's what I always want to happen...but when I clear out the Legion, they just hang around with some of the women continuing to carry their slave packs. I keep thinking: "Go, go, you're free. Get out of here!"
They ignore me.

I went up Camp Guardian tonight and took out a Giant Radscorpion. As I was standing over the body after looting its poison glands...the body attacks me!
Turns out, there was a smaller radscorpion hiding in the body mass that started trying to attack me, too bad for him I had Boone with me and the Q-35

Wiki says if you fail that, all NCR quests fail and you can't take any more. If you have high enough reputation, you can push things pretty far and still be able to do their quests, even You'll Know It When You See It.Giggles_Manically wrote...
