Okay so I finally used some C4.

Placed like 6 down when I saw some Legion assassins coming after me.
BOOM
Then I got to use the best quote ever.

That's what I always want to happen...but when I clear out the Legion, they just hang around with some of the women continuing to carry their slave packs. I keep thinking: "Go, go, you're free. Get out of here!"

They ignore me.Image IPB

It would have been nice to see Melody (with her Sergeant Teddy) and Siri escape to freedom. I like to imagine that they made it safely outside the Fort.

NPCs do seem to have a knack for occasionally becoming completely oblivious to what's happening around them. I've heard somewhere that if the LW kills Tenpenny in FO3, the residents of the tower continue to talk as if he's still alive. And I think Dr. Li continued to "need to gather her thoughts" for the entire rest of the game after she settled in at the Citadel.

Bugs, when they happen, can make this especially amusing. One time when I was leading the Rivet City scientists through the sewers to escape the Enclave, Dogmeat (who was in "stay here" mode at my Megaton house) suddenly appeared in the procession. None of the scientists had anything to say about how a dog just appeared out of thin air or why it was following us.

Six?  Man, that is the definition of overkill. But, this is Fallout, so overkill is sort of expected, huh? I like C4 but use it only rarely due to scarcity. But...six?...I'd be surprised if there was anything left of a four man hit squad. C4 is big time overpowered, and is just not plentiful enough until Lonesome Road.

Their real value lies in high DAM and that they are command detonated.

You know I really wish Power Armor had like a separate rule for how it worked.
Like it could outright ignore damage to a very high point, but it made you move much slower or something.

Like honestly I find it annoying that a weak little Varmint Rifle can still do health damage.

Yeah, since Siri is the only dialogue-able slave, she's the only one who can put face and voice on slavery. I just wish she would run when given the chance. Sadly, you have to imagine she does.

I've actually never talked to Melody but will have to remedy that on this run.

Just talked to Melody at Fortification Hill.

That was...heartbreaking.

Oh man, the story arcs of Dead Money, both the backstory of Vera Keyes, and the current ones with the companions, just seems so...poignant. They really do stick with me. Despite its flaws, DM is definitely my favorite DLC. Let go, and Begin again indeed.

All the more reason to go in guns blazing against the Fort.
If you want pieces, prepare some shotguns?

They kind of fixed that in New Vegas by reimplementing DT and DR as seperate stats for armor. It still doesn't feel quite like in the original games, where walking around in power armor made you more or less immune to low level guns (unless they got a one in a million critical), but power armor's high DT will still mitigate most of the damage done by such low level guns (which also now includes las pistols and such).

I wish I hadn't just brought my laptop home with me this weekend - I have an urge to play Project Brazil.

Well...I still hate Dead Money.

But once you recall the radio and item locations its easier.
Still the worst DLC for me.

I used to dread Dead Money. Now I like it, primarily because of all the backstory. In fact, I'm getting ready to do it again...just have to get my melee score up a few more points.

The one thing I do hate is stripping my gear...but then again how would I start new and "begin again?"

I know, right?

I'm VERY attached to and protective of my gear. Nobody...I mean nobody...messes with ma inventory!

My chief motivation in DM lies in making Elijah pay in full for separating me from it.

One thing annoying in Dead Money is how easy it is to set off your fellow thieves.

Use a Barter check on Dean? He tries to kill you no matter what
Use the INT check on God? He tries to kill you no matter what.

Oh well.
Everyone besides Christine and the Courier dies this run I guess.
Not much of a loss really especially if you read Dean's notes.

So yeah...locking Elijah in the Vault?

Hilarious.
Listening to it made it almost worthwhile to play Dead Money.
Almost.

I've never had God turn on me. Dean is a tricky one to talk down, though.

See I dont feel anything bad about killing Dean.

Especially when you read the background on him.

Killing Dean is karmic. I really don't like it when he gets of scot free after all the stuff he pulled.

The only time I can recall using C4 was when I went to pay Caesar a visit at Fortification Hill.

I laugh so hard at how I can just nonchalantly place three to four C4 explosives around Caesar's throne while he and his Frumentarii just stand htere and watch like it's no big deal. Back up a bit. Hit the detonator. And watch the cinematic kill cam of Caesar's body flying hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh up into the air.

Hilarious.

Never did find his body, though. Sad that I can't loot it then, but still well worth the hilarity of that kill cam. Image IPB

So I bet New Vegas going Mr House this run.

Oh poor little Oliver got ruined!
Though the funniest was seeing Lanius get robocoped.

He ran into 2 securitrons, Boone, EDE, and the Enclave Remnants so ...ouch.
