I have a soft spot for ghouls. Anyway, from RP perspective, his perk is useful and you need all the help you can get. Taking a chance on getting out without your head popping like a melon is iffy at best. Plus I never want to do anything Elijah wants me to do. It's the contrarian in me.Giggles_Manically wrote...
See I dont feel anything bad about killing Dean.
Especially when you read the background on him.

Came out of nowhere, Courier spins around pulls the trigger twice with what he has in his hand...an anti-materiel rifle with explosive rounds...Boone down, ED-E down, every limb crippled with 15-20% health left...but a blown to smithereens Legendary and young-uns. I wish I had video...it was an ugly, win.

I once tried using a Fatman on a Deathclaw mob coming at me.
Blew them all up crippled everything but my head.
Had like around 20 health left too.
"I LLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!"
Maybe I should have sprung for the GRA Fatman....

Basically i questioned the legitimacy of the assumption that it must exist when Beth made no move to even move it beyond the Vanburen reference. To me it's just another way to Demean the Legion, sure its an Authoritarian Society but that doesn't automatically make them worship the leader as anything more then merely their God King, I don't denounce the self worship mind you nor do i endorse given that it's not mentioned one way or another.
Its just the cult i drew issue with given that its just a baseless assumption; Same as the belief the Legion will fracture after the death of Caesar.
I still recall meeting Marcus for the first time and him speaking of the Legion and people following its Leader over its mission statement and ideals and i am like...And you know this how exactly? Have you even met a Legionary?
._.
Anywho the frigging forum Administrators ultimately sided with leaving the page as it was...But i did convince them to place the Sawyer quote i dug up on it explaining civilian life beyond the Mojave in the lands of the East.

And should I still be running around with the space suit if I want to wear light armor? I haven't run into anything better...

Now, for the rest of the story...If you can get your repair skill up to 90, you will have the Jury Rigging perk opened up in the perk list. With Jury Rigging you can repair weapons and armor with dissimilar weapons or armor. You can repair a top level shotgun with a single shot shotgun or even a caravan shotgun. You can repair a lot of the medium armors with legion armor.
If you want to stay in light armor, you can repair most light armors with clothing or even vault suits. Jury Rigging is one of the better perks in the game and makes it worth pouring points into repair. It makes your life as a Courier a lot easier.
BTW, have you tried reinforced leather? With reinforced leather armor, you have a base DT of 10, which is the highest DT for light armor outside of faction armor. You can also "gecko back" it (with a survival skill of 90 and a campfire and gecko hides), and raise that to 15 DT. You can repair it with standard leather, which is plentiful, or other reinforced leather sets. With the Jury Rigging perk, you can repair it with clothes or even vault suits I think.
You can repair your space suit with radiation suits BTW, but they aren't all that plentiful. My advice would be to scrap the space suit, and go with reinforced leather for now. The DT is the same (10), but you can repair reinforced leather much easier.
As for me, without my modded-in armors, I'm always in medium armor (combat, reinforced, and reinforced Mk 2), because I need higher DT as an explosives user.
Hope that helps!

I think the opposite is true, actually. Those of us that wear light armor do so because we don't need to hide behind power armor.Giggles_Manically wrote...

I wear Joshua Graham's armor as soon as I get it, for the + Crit chance. Prior to that, usually the Armored Vault Suit and the Sheriff's Duster from Primm. Leather armor is fine, too. I don't worry so much about DT. My principle is always that they can't hurt you if they're dead before they see you.Joy Divison wrote...
I don't get the armor in this game. What's good? Are you supposed to upgrade? How do you maintain it? I've picked up the space suit when I was level 9 and now I'm level 24 and still running around with the same space suit that needs repair every hour I play the game, which is frustrating because I don't know how I can repair it without going to Old lady Gibson or someone.
And should I still be running around with the space suit if I want to wear light armor? I haven't run into anything better...
For repair, you need a similar armor set as the one you have. Jury Rigging will expand these capabilities, but it can be tricky for suits that need, say, a recon armor for repair. Those usually have to be purchased and can be scarce. Leather armor is usually available in the Viper camps. The space suit is considered clothing, not armor. According to the wiki, you can even repair it with a head wrap.

Repairing a high tech gun with a broke down piddley one?
Awesome.
Wiping out fiends kept my Q35 nice and pristine.

A good principle to be sure...The 1st Recon principle!
It just seems to tragically break down when I start yearning to throw MFC Clusters or rapid fire 25mm HE rounds at charging Legionnaires!

I disagree, that's precisely what is so great about it, It was different, you can't just shoot everything in Dead Money, walk into the cloud and expect nothing to happen. Dead Money had a great story and was a great change of pace. It brought New Vegas' survival elements to its best, and I think people didn't like it because it actually made you think about what you were doing.
I admit I was pleasantly surprised by Dead Money at first (I thought I would hate it). And I did enjoy the story stuff quite a bit, but after how many hours playing it I finally got completely fed up with that idiotic slave collar and was overjoyed when I finished the DLC.
