I loved Christine though and its too bad the Fallout engine couldn't actually show you all her mannerisms and gestures. Would love to see a studio with better track record graphically attempt a mute character.

Fallouts graphic engine is so outdated. There is not even breakable glass!!! Thats a basic in practically every game that has guns now a days. The facial animations can be forgiven with the great voice acting Fallout has been known for.

I liked the survival horror elements in it, but they were more of an annoyance. I like the DlC for the survival horror theme, but its much more of a drag to play through than anything. I like the new stuff it adds as well. But freaking dog won't stay when I tell him to!!!

I don't know about survival horror, I think it's just survival, don't know where you'd find the horror. Ghost people? They're not that scary. Dog/God is the most useful out of the companions in Dead Money, he's the one that can take the most damage and he's also pretty good at dealing damage. Dean sucks, he's the only one with a gun and he gets easily killed. I just take out most of the ghost people with melee weapons anyway, better to have the streets clean of them. The only place where I don't kill them is after bell tower, I just run and ignore them all after that, there's too many anyway and not enough stimpaks to put them all down.

As for the engine, Bethesda owns Id Software now, they should make use of the Id Tech engines, they own them and they don't have to pay for licensing like they do for Gamebryo, besides the engine that Id use allow for modding. Doom 3 had a lot of mods when it came out.

Well the dlc was survival horror-ish. Well I hope the next fallout has a much more updated and new engine. The series needs to move on graphically. The new unreal engine 4 or even id's newer engine would be great. The gamebyro is too buggy and old.

Yeah Bethesda needs to get a new engine already.

Its getting pretty old and its showing its limitations.

Thats what really annoys me about fallout in general. The rest is pretty much awesome. The old engine causes lots of the bugs anyways.

Yeah the conversations are a bit silly at time.

"Christine raises an eyebrow at you!"
While in game she just kinda leans her head back and looks at you.

Kinda a shame.

The dead money dlc sucks....majorly. You don't get to keep your weapons, you are stuck in a boring town with little freedom, you have to worry about your head being blown off, and Dog/God likes to run in front of my bullets all the time!!!!

That's kind of the point, lol. And melee characters always do run in front of your guns, unfortunately.

That's what I want...a better programmed game that you aren't constantly fighting game breaking bugs, freezes and crashes in. I'm hoping FO (next) is taking so long because they are going to release a game that will be more stable, regardless of processor or OS.

Awesome games, but flawed technically and graphically.

You do also need to take in consideration that this is an open world game, sure the engine doesn't help but there are a lot of variables, scripts, and other stuff to worry about, I doubt anyone can get everything 100% right with games of that size. Bugs are always present, even in the smallest programs.

Yes of course that is true, but I was referring to the next Fallout that it needs to have improvements graphically and technically. Bethesda after all are known to release buggy games anyways.

People used guns in Dead Money?  Ok, I admit, I did once I got to the hotel, but up until then, it was melee/unarmed all the way. Most terrifying couple of hours of my life, but there was something strangely satisfying about beating wheezing, creepy Ghost men to a pulp with a bear trap fist.

For as much as that DLC scared the bejesus out of me, I thought the story and atmosphere was excellent. But I drag my feet about doing it again, because I'm such a chicken.

I used guns in it, but there's not much ammo so most of the time I didn't use it. The police pistol is pretty strong, I used it to VATS on the gas bombs those fools throw at you, if destroys their limbs. The Automatic Rifle is pretty good when you get crowded with those things, unfortunately it has a low ammo count and reloading it is difficult. Not much 308 ammo around either.

My gun skill is at 100 and putting 4 bullets into a ghosts head with a .357 revolver doesn't do anything. Also I hate the part when Dog is in the casino's kitchen and he activates those valves. It suck because my character is All about gins blazing and spraying an area down with little care in the world and I have to sneak around. I keep dying.

I don't know, guns were pretty effective against the ghost people. I think Dead Money wasn't made for running n gunning, if you're planning on playing it like that, then you won't enjoy it let alone get anywhere at all. You can't run n gun against the ghost people.

I personally don't use sneak, and I've gone through Dead Money just fine.

Well Dog is hypersensitive as anything and I have to witness my Level 40 character get blown to bits in all of Fallouts over the top dismemberment. Maybe its because I suck at stealth. I also have my characters medicine, repair, barter, and speech at 100. That alone has helped me so much!!!

You know if companions get in the way, why not just tell them to wait somewhere safe? I do that with Dean because he sucks, I just go on ahead and beat up all the ghost people. I've never had Dog/God die on me, and he is by far the most useful. He's got like 1000HP or something, I don't use Dog though, I always switch him to God.

Oh thats right! You can use the audio log to change him to god. Thats pretty funny though!!! Dean would never shut up, dog/god wasn't that annoying, but Christine was awesome. I feel so sas for her.):

If you get to know him, you'll see that God is the one who isn't out of his mind. At first it seems like his an ass but he's the sane one.

Ever since I installed the Unigine demo I've been enjoying imagining Bethesda using it. :3

I don't get the armor in this game. What's good? Are you supposed to upgrade? How do you maintain it? I've picked up the space suit when I was level 9 and now I'm level 24 and still running around with the same space suit that needs repair every hour I play the game, which is frustrating because I don't know how I can repair it without going to Old lady Gibson or someone.

And should I still be running around with the space suit if I want to wear light armor? I haven't run into anything better...

Forgot to tell you...since I just finished it.  If you have the patience, a ton of Rad-Away and Rad-X, a radiation suit, ED-E and Boone (or any other companion of your choice), you may want to head over to Vault 34. Figure out the puzzles, kill the high DT security guard ghouls...and you will walk away with a ton of loot. Weapons, ammo, etc. Best part is, besides getting All-American (named Marksman Carbine) ,as you traverse the vault, you will pick up several Vault 34 Security Vault Suits. They are all light armor and have a DT of 16 when fully repaired. Add the security helmet, which you will also find, and you'll get 3 more DT overall. Pretty good for a light armor wearer.

I'm not gonna lie, it's a difficult vault.  The radiation is constant, the enemies are tough, and figuring out how to access the different areas will test your frustration level.  But when you finally get the Armory door open, it's a skies parting and angels singing in chorus moment.

^ Vault 34, the place that taught me to stock up on RadAway.  I think I got addicted to Atomic cocktail or something down there once, too, with no Fixer on me. As if you need another distraction.

Ah, now the picture is becoming clearer.

I always make God stay God. He's not as strong and he's always talking about how he's going to chew your arm off or something but as company in the Sierra Madre goes, he's not the worst.
