Anyway, ignoring the above picture, my money would be on Tali.

After Xen assassinates the other admirals and takes over she allies with Cerberus (behind the scenes) and together they take control over the geth.

At this point Tali is torn between staying loyal to her people (no matter how difficult) or fighting with her friend (and possible lover).

She is at first on your side and sends you information, guiding you through a war zone... then when you're far enough away she tearfully apologizes for what she must do and reveals she's lead you into one of Xen's traps.

Is this really apart of the storyline? If so, when does this occur?

VS: Got lucky, when Shepard showed up a lot of people paralized by the swarms didn't get carted off by the seeker swarms and the duration as far as I remember was never mentioned to be permanent.

Zaeed is a possibility especially if you saved the refinery workers. And he takes checks.

The VS could be a reaper sleeping agent. I mean, he/she was a few meters from Lilith in Horizon when the seeker swarm paralyzed him/her. How could they take Lilith and not the VS to the CB?

I think since Kelly can die it'd be hard for it to be Kelly unless they had an alternate for that event, but I always did think she was a spy. She's too nice.

honestly, if they want it to have emotional impact and truly affect the story, it is gonna have to be someone who is close to Shepard but definitely alive during ME3.

That leaves Kaiden, Ashley, Liara, EDI, (or maybe Joker). The rest can die at some point in ME1 or 2.

I assumed the VS escaping the Collectors was 'plot advancing armour'.

As to who could be informing Cerberus - could be anyone in the team or greater team. Anyone with access to the intel.

I reckon its Generic Tech 34. You know the shifty looking one who's always talking about wanting leave. He's finally cracked after going too long without fresh air.

Possibly Legion, but if 'your' Shepherd is a paragon then you may be able to negotiate a peace pact with the friendlier variety of Geth.

Though this isn't controversial: The Illusive man (TIM). I fear Miranda may also be persuaded by TIM.

EDI: If EDI is still partially under the control of TIM.

People not likely to betray you, 'your' love interest, if loyal. Tali, Liara, Garrus.

Kaiden or the female alternative (who for me died on Virmire, I forgot her name) may betray Shepherd if he is a renegade.

Imagine if it was the implants that Cerberus put into Shep while they were re-building him/her. Cerberus knows wherever Shep goes. Shep is his/her own worst enemy.

Thought I am concerned that Miranda was one of the few people who could meet TIM in person, her eyes are not like TIM or Saren at the end of ME2.

"The Illusive Man does not just get even with those who cross him. No, he is more of a "I am going to conduct experiments on you with alien technology, turn you into an abomination, take notes on it, and then kill you" kind of guy."
Because Miranda isn't listed as a recruitable  squad member, this has me worried. IF she she survives, isn't indoctrinated and tells TIM where to stick it when you destroy the base and wanders too far out of Shepard's orbit, then I think she's in serious danger.
