I will also beg you to use standard grammar. You are not texting or IMing with friends and several of us are a bit old to want to bother deciphering text-speak. If I won't do it for my teen, I'm unlikely to do it for a total stranger.

My laptop used to do this after a while, but it was because it was overheating and the processor was turned down by the system to avoid it reaching dangerous temperatures.

Please edit that mess and this time, do use standard business spelling, punctuation, and paragraph breaks, instead of this wall of unbroken text, and also pay attention to the "Read First" guide regarding what goes into the report.

I will repeat Gorath's request that you see the Read First post at the top of the forum with posting instructions and provide the requested information. Things like drivers and operating system have a large impact on how programs behave.

After hours and hours of investigation these forums and many others that are directly related to Bioware's burocracy employers, the basic same response is all over the place: " its your computer", "your computer is old", "your hardware is garbage" and so on. (And this is specially true whenever this guy Gorath is involved somehow).
Dont misunderstand me please, i dont have anything against anyone around here.
But it comes to my attention that these persons of whatever age they are, can take the time to give these poor comments about a totally valid question (im 42 old years old myself and can take the time to read and reply in diverse forums, i do not mind, its not like my kids dont let me watch in another direction when they speak to me!), instead of using that time to trying to help someone who are another customer of Bioware.
I'll look forward for a reasonable reply to the problem of Shonboy, because i have the same exact problem with my computer who has a state of the art hardware from this very year. (2011)
Thanks in anticipation to the kind person who can and have the will help us.
This problem is very frustating and anoying, yes im talking about the insane COMBAT LAG, that doesnt happen in any other game that i ever played in my entire life (And i can tell you for sure that i have played many many games, im a hardcore gamer and has been all my life).
I dont have the will to buy another game of this Bioware company until they adress us with a solution, its been more than a year with this problem, do something Bioware for the love of god!. We are your customers and we deserve a fix to this problem and we want it soon!.
Sorry for my english its not my native language.
Yours Truly
Another anoyed customer of bioware!
Oh and one more thing, if you can be so kind to avoid deleting this comment. Stop evading us, your customers, the ones who pays your games, who let your company thrieve, and help us Bioware, its the least you can do for us...

No one is ignoring an issue. Asking for standard spelling and grammar to the best of someone's abilities is not being rude. If I can't figure out what he is saying, I can't help. "rly" is not an English word. No one can help if the most basic of information isn't provided. If, after that information is provided, it is obvious that someone's system is well below the minimum, I'm not going to tell someone that the game will run great or blame BW because someone is running a game on a system that is below the minimum specs. I won't call that hardware "crap" (Gorath is a bit more blunt than I am), but anything below the minimums would perform poorly if at all on any modern game. That is not a failing on the part of BW. I also do not expect my solidly middle of the road gaming system to run with every graphical option maxed out. It would stutter horribly. That is the reality of PC gaming.
If you are having difficulty and would like help FROM FELLOW GAMERS, see the Read First post and someone might be able to help you make the game run more smoothly. If not, please stop screeching at us. We didn't program the game. We have no control over what BW does or does not fix. We have no magical ability to fix your problem in the complete absence of information. Just because your system is brand new does not mean that it is capable of gaming. I have a lovely new super-compute cluster in my lab that can solve complex math problems in the blink of an eye. I couldn't run DAO on it. System minimums are set for a reason. A host of other problems can cause combat lag. Again, with absolutely no system information, I couldn't even make a guess at what your problem is. Gorath and I have no ability whatsoever to delete your comment. At most, I could report a post I found offensive to the forum mods who would then determine if it violated the site's terms of use.
Edited to add: The reason you are finding some variation of "it is your hardware" in every search you make is because the vast majority of the time, it is. The most common cause of visual stuttering is asking a graphics card to make more computations than it is capable of doing fast enough for the game to run smoothly.

Its true "rly" is indeed not an english word, but how is that my native laguange isnt english and i still can understand it as a contraction of the word "realy". I mean no offense but i believe some of you my fellow gamers take things way to serious...
Maybe you wasnt paying attention to what I posted before, let me retake what i mention about me as a hardcore gamer, veteran i must add. My machine is tunned for games like a Ferrari is for a speed race. Forget about the hardcore lies about the DAO problems, it can be for owners or old machines, but its not for 70% or more of the population affected.
Its a memory leak or something related to the patch 1.04, and it is not being adressed like it should be from Bioware.
I have this game also for the playstation 3 system as well as the XBox because my kids (well not that young they are 16 and 18 years old) love the game and we used to play it at the same time. And before you ask im not playing on a laptop... Im a hardcore gamer remember?. Oh and i have all the official dlc content for the three systems as well.
After playing the game in the playstation i decided to buy the game for my pc, and dowloaded the official content without testing the game, that was a mistake im regreting since that day (more than a year ago).
I dont want to be mean or taken as paranoic but really, i think some of you work at Bioware and dont want to take the blame that you should, its easier to blame others for your faults, like adressing this problem to hardware, when its not the case, its irresponsible to release a game in a platform without fully support and kind of inmoral to also charge money for it, in my country this could be called "thievery".
This is not directed at you Sami, if you dont work at Bioware by any means please dont take offense. But after been suffering this "Lag Thing" for more than a year ago, its an insult that this problem can be taken so lighty by people who are players or employers of Bioware. This is very SENSITIVE MATTER, its not a joke its very frustating and anoying.
And if someone out there knows a work around to this Combat Lag problem, Bioware of not, please... please let us know the solution. I tried everthying mentioned in the DAO: solutions thread and a lot more, i have this game since almost two years, i love it but im very disapointed with the PC platform problems.
I bought the best hardware out there in the market about two months ago hoping for this problem to go, I also tunned it with windows 7 32 bit (didnt want to try it on 64 bits format for the problems mentioned everywhere about compatibility with DAO, YES THAT FAR I WENT), and not im not willing to start a discusion about my hardware, believe me when im saying its the best posible... It is indeed.
My brother gave me the secuel as a gift (Dragon Age 2), I didnt play it so far and just dont want to play it ever, im very very disapointed with BIOWARE. After a lot of investigation and thorough reading i decided to raise my voice, its incredible that Bioware released the patch 1.05 without fixing the combat lag problem, only the DLC was taking care, its an insult that the only thing they care about is filling their pockets... its like slaping us in the face ><.
Well ill have my attention in this and many other threads, its not like im giving up hope... yet...
God knows that im no the only one customer deceived to say the least, and I really hope others in the comunity or out of it make its appearance as well against Bioware abusses, raise their hand and press forward for a solution to this very delicate matter that from now on it should be called "BIOWARE COMBAT LAG".

Actually, no one, including myself, who has posted in this topic upto this point is an employee of BioWare or Electronic Arts, we are all fellow Community Members just like you.
The following is the description of exactly what this forum is about:
Dragon Age: Origins PC Technical Support This forum is for fans and owners of Dragon Age: Origins to assist each other with technical questions. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts, but fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here.
In essence, this is a 'Self-Help' help forum. Note that the official BioWare staff are easily identifiable when they do post in the forums.
The **READ FIRST: How to Research and Report Issues** topic explains what information is needed for so that fellow community members may be better able to help fellow community members resolve their technical issues.
Things like a wall of text (continuous streams of text without breaks), non-standard abbreviations (such as used in text messages or 'Leet Speak'), are not very helpful, and such makes it extremely difficult to read and determine what the issue really is.
Attacking fellow Community Members is not very helpful in resolving a technical issue and is a violation of the Site Rules we all agreed to so that we may be able to use these forums.

Power Supply: Corsair 650Watt, 12 Volt: Rail AMPS = 52.
Note: This is the way I like to see system specs posted and I require folks provide information info similar to this format in the NWN 2 Forums simply because no two computers are exactly the same.
The game runs Origins very well with mostly medium settings selected for performance and some high settings. Compared to the system requirements for Origins, my computer ranks pretty low-end, especially with the Pentium D processor (an early dual-core processor rated at 3.0 GHz per processor.
I get a smooth 35fps average. 27fps on the low end in busy areas with combat and about 54fps in less cluttered areas, all without any noticeable video lag.
I also run games like NWN 2, DA II, and Mass Effects 2 with similar performance results.
Additional notes...
If you do not have DX 9.0c installed, I would suggest installing the DX 9.0 re-distributable version and try setting the game to run on DX 9.0 and see how it performs. DX 9.0c will co-exist with DX 11 installations and nether version overwrites the other. Besides, Origins isn't really designed to take advantage of DX 11 as I recall, while DA II is. However, for DX 11 on DA II, you also need a GPU with a minimum of 1 GB RAM on the video card; shared memory using the System RAM does not cut it.
