I'm still grinning to myself. It's a good job i'm alone at the moment, if someone sees me I may get committed.

Anyways i've been looking forward to this since it was first announced. I love anime, I love Dragon Age so it's like a dream come true. It's out the same month as ME3 too! I don't think i'll be getting anything constructive done at all that month :P

As soon as i'm able to preorder this, I am.

It was a group internal to Machinama.com, working directly with us to make sure the lore matched; a similar siutaiton to the partnership with FUNimation, in fact.

Okay, thanks. I particularly liked when Kristoff tries to query the dwarf.

We see first the way conciliatory, that doesn't work, and then, the pragmatic way in which the hero becomes threatening, which works and I really enjoyed it.

The culmination of a sense of admiration for me. Almost better than a film. I stayed in my chair and I pressed several times the scene. In short, a great job.

To return to this new animation, I'm glad to see that it's about Cassandra. I gather it will appear with a strong role in the next episode lol.

What?? Cassandra's origin? I was expecting a poor rewrite of Origins. I am quite pleasantly surprised. :D

I wanna see some animation, though. Here's hoping the actual movie will be as cool and atmospheric as that concept art.~

edit:  dragons?  pssh.  i'm excited that there'll actually be HORSES.

Why make an anime? I hate anime. I still think an actual DA film would be awesome.

I just now watched these, I had no idea they existed. They were awesome! Why did they stop making them? Also they made me realize just how much I miss the old art style. It was so much more compelling.

March 2012? Alright, I'll watch it, but please make it short so it doesn't cut into my ME3 time... or alternatively, release it a few days before ME3 :P

Bioware... In your March, stealing your time.

For those who cannot visit the funimation website, if you really want to see some interesting concept arts (ina DAO style) and the short teaser, you can eventually visit this RPGF page dedicated to this subject.

We can guess some dragons attacking Orlais, the Divine Audience Chamber, some Orlais environmental screens and much more.

I have to say they are really wondeful, reminds me my old ADD2.0 player handbook illustrations

It's Anime and further deviation from the original concept of the game. So no, I'm not excited about it. In fact it's just more proof the franchise has no artistic identity and is just senseless money grabbing. I guess it started with Fenris when Bioware got the message that the world is indeed ready for more spiky haired waifs carrying swords twice their size. I wonder if Gaider's new novel will in fact just be a black and white hentai manga.

...Wait, what? How does making an anime destroy the artistic integrity of Dragon Age?

Because it's Japanese. . .and all Japanese stuff is bad!

Seriously, I doubt this anime is going to do any more damage than DA:2 did, artistically.

I've always been a fan of switching the art-style for a new game/expansion/sequel. I think the art is a lense through which you tell the story.

DA2 was bad (art-wise) because it had a disjointed artistic vision, not because it changed the vision. A lot of the individual stuff is good... but it just doesn't mesh with any of the other stuff.

Aw and here I was hoping to see a bunch of gods of yesteryear :(

Well we have those, but after the Warden got finished, we're down one, and there's only so many.

The Old Gods are truly dragons, right? 'Cause if they aren't, they don't count. Image IPB

I agree, but generally this is an issue with Bioware Art direction across the board.

For example, the Lion of Orlais Shield and the Golden Prince's Raiment both imply a certain art style for Orlais, but I guarantee when we go there it will look just the same as Kirkwall and Fereldan.

'Wow! Wardens fall' I remember seeing this spectacular effort and thinking that these guys at machinima understand what makes dragonage awesome.
Then along came the slaughterer of hopes and dreams DA2, and now we are getting an anime? I'll get a shovel, this corpse is starting to stink.

As far as i am aware funimation (badly) localize anime, they are not a production company.

Even if they do produce animation the end results are not anime.

Probably would have been more interested had it not been an anime.. No offense to anime fans, just never been a huge fan of that style of animation.

That, and Cassandra just never struck me as a very interesting character (in DA2, anyway).

To be honest I'm not utterly excited. (And I love DA.) I'm just not that crazy about japanese animation styles.

But even so, I know that I will probably watch it just because it's Dragon Age. Though I wished it had been another kind of animation.

Traditionally that is what they do. This is funimation's first foray into doing their own thing.
