There seems to be a lot of debate concerning Rogues and whether you should go Dex+Cun or Str+Dex and min. Cun

There also seems to be a good debate whether Light or Medium armors are the way to go. So let's build the perfect Rogue what attributes, skills, talents, specializations, and equipment are we going to wear?

The Perfect Rogue
Current Gear in use by Zevran level 22 Rogue Assassin/Duelist

Mainhand- Starfang (1h version), The Imperial Edge is also very nice if you get the Merchants to upgrade it to tier 7 for you.

Offhand- Biteback Axe/Dead Thaig Shanker

Gloves- Wades Superior Drakeskin Gloves(Dex, FR), Pushback Strikers (High Melee Crit)

Chest- Wades Superior Drakeskin Leather Armor( Dex, FR)

Boots- Cadash Stompers (Dex,Armor, Ranged Crit, Melee Crit, Incr. Host.)

Belt- Shadow Belt (Melee Crit, Host. Reduction)

Helm- Helm of Honnleath(Heavy Armor but such nice stats)

Neck- Deadhead Charge (High Phsy Resist)

Ring1-Harvest Festival Ring (Str, Dex, Atk)

Ring2- Ring of the Warrior (Str,Dex)

The Traditional Rogue

Mainhand-
Offhand-
Gloves-
Chest-
Boots-
Neck-
Ring1-
Ring2-

The equipment listed above is what I used on my endgame Zevran who I specced for pure damage, as people offer additional or better suggestions I will update all of the catergories. My goal with this thread is to be sort of a Rogue reference and to help give new players an idea of what equipment to look for in the game.

Not so much debate as multiple legitimate ways to play a rogue effectively. Kind of depends on what you want to accomplish.

Right now I'm thinking about trimming the fat and making the best Combat-oriented Rogue that you can make. I did this myself to a point with Zevran and sort of kept Leliana on the back-burner as more of a traditional RP rogue, excellent at stealing, sneaking, and lockpicking.

I will post my gear and stats in a bit for my endgame Zevran but now that I'm going through as a Rogue PC I was wondering what would be different if anything.

I played the game as a Rogue with Ranger and Duelist.

I took bow, and that was my main weapon, and it worked just fine for me, having either a wolf or bear along on most adventuring.
