- Elevators over loading screens (I play console)

- TIM's mission complete screens, like OP said was fun to get a glimpse into the mind of TIM

- A badass ruthless SOB on the team, my Shepard was so ronery in ME1 without Zaeed. (Wrex/Garrus are badass, but they aren't quite SOBs) Someone like Kai Leng would be perfect, plus his xenophobia could be the source of entertaining conflict. Characters like Morinth are pushing it, especially when they come at the expense of another companion. Zaeed is an unapologetic bastard, but even so he doesn't murder innocents for the fun of it. An evil character such as Ya Zhen (Jade Empire) or Morinth would work better with a different protagonist.

- Decent looking helmet/mask that alters voice and can be worn during conversations (unlike DA2 for example). The Death Mask from ME2 worked well enough.

- TIM/Cerberus as an ally again (not quite everyone seems to hate this one, but the number of people who want it are certainly outnumbered by what seems to be a wide margin)

The Hammerhead - people just don't know how to drive it.

I've seen very few people complaining about the handling.  Most people don't like the durability and the arcade-y level design of the Hammerhead missions.

I'm the exact opposite, I had no clue how to control the Hammerhead and it flipped over too easy. I didn't like the Overlord mission at all.

I liked the mining mini game but I've read that every ME-2 fan except me hated it lollll

Around playthrough 10 it has lost its charm :)

Do note that the Mako is not something that everyone seems to hate.  Listing it makes no sense.  It was fashionable to hate on the Mako before ME2 came out, then everyone suddenly changed their tune and praise it to the skies now.  It isn't in keeping with the topic.

Anyway, here's a couple more.
Unique armors for the squadmates - I personally think that everyone having their own personal style in armor was a lot more interesting than having to find an mod armor for everyone.  The number of squaddies that were in ME2 would have made that even more tedious than it was in ME1.  I do however think they could do with some more customization, maybe find special armor pieces that can be given to specific squadmates, but only slightly alters their look.

Minigames - I don't see what's so bad about these.  They provide a different type of gameplay to break up the regular dialogue + combat rinse-repeat that I found refreshing.  They weren't too difficult or time consuming, nor were the vast majority of them mandatory.  Only a few times did you have to hack/bypass to progress the story, in either game.  I would hesitantly include the planet scanning in that list.  I had no problems with it once they patched it.  It was something you did every once in a while between missions or when exploring.  There were far mor resources than you ever needed, and it didn't take long at all to mine what you needed, after the first playthrough.

I definitely hope the Mako and elevators can make a return in ME3. The elevator rides were a lot more interesting than looking at ME2's loading screens. If the Mako returns I'm pretty sure we'd have some much better exploration and missions on uncharted worlds and other planets.

@KaidanWilliamsShepard i like you sir.you know whats up.except the mako statement bu i understand your feelings on that...i counted the seconds for most of me1's evlvators and took about 20 seconds or so.me2 loading screen time was all over the place.sometimes only few seconds to 50 seconds.

Why thank you sir.
I said that any vehicle would do...but i would honestly prefer some form of the original Mako.

I see a lot of threads on here about hatred of features.  Most of the time I have to scratch my head in puzzlement at some of the things people hate on.  What are the things that the forum blows out of proportion that you would actually like to see?

Here's mine:
The Hammerhead - people just don't know how to drive it.  It's an awesome vehicle; fast, maneauverable, and powerful.  The drawback is the armor (it has to have some kind of drawback people)

The Mission Complete Screen - I loved reading the Illusive Man's personal report on the situation at the end of the mission.  It gave insight into his psyche, and it flowed well with the story.  It didn't "break immersion" or "intrude on the story" for me any more than the dialogue wheel.

Thermal Clips - I'll be flamed for this one I'm sure, but I just don't see anything wrong with thermal clips.  Not with the lore (it has an explanation, though clunky), not with the gameplay, and not with the fun.  The clip system makes you think tactically, and keeps you from spraying bullets all over the place with no consequence.  It also encourages you to try out other weapons instead of using the same one all the time, because you will run out of ammo in one weapon easily if it is all you use.

I may think of more, but that's it for now.  What's your list of likes among the things the forum blows out of proportion?

1: The hammerhead has ZERO shield. It makes no sense....go ahead...explain to me why a top line assault vehicle has NO shields. Also, the guided missile systems SUCKS. It just flat out does not work. ....AT ALL. The missile will be heading toward the right target and inexplicably veer to the side and hit a freaking rock!

2: People dislike the illusive man.....deal with it. now let me ask you a question would you rather have that OR something like ME1 in which you actually discussed with full interaction the outcome of the mission with the squaddies?

3: Thermal clips make ZERO sense in game. You may like it as a concept but they were a shoehorned addition to the gameplay to make ME2 more of a shooter. People do not dislike Thermal clips but what they represent and what they did to the lore.

Would like to see:
Nigel Fishnchips as a squaddie.
Jack:wub: as a squaddie.
More to do post-game.
ALOT more armor customization, and some for my squad(Jack+shirt in combat=a good thing).
When I put my guns away the icons of the two people in your squad  to go away.
Matriach Aethyta(sp?) slap Conrad with a singularity.
Matriach Aethyta on my ship as my bartender ( dirty bar for obvious reasons:devil:).
More shotgun range and higher capacity claymore (I think 3 is a fair number).
A tactical cloak that is....tactical.
Holy hand grenade.
Miranda get her teeth fixed.
Wrex:Shepard Shepard:Wrex.
Options to leave guns on the ship,I don't use heavies so I dont see lugging one around all the time.
Proof that guitars still exist in the 22nd century.
Loot...tons more loot.
LOKI mech battle arena.

Wow, way to take everything I said and blow it out of all proportion.  Hat's off to you sir.  I guess this wouldn't be BSN if someone didn't blow something out of proportion.

no, I merely gave you a very condensed, reader's digest version of WHY people dislike (in general) what you happen to like. There is a reason why people dislike things (usually). You are scratching your head in puzzlement about these features because either A: you are unaware of the commonly agreed upon reasons WHY they suck or are hated or B: You are simply disregarding them.

Or else you may have arguments to make said features less of a bother/make more sense.....if you do please go ahead and argument your points because in your initial post you only list the reason why you like them as opposed to debunking the reasons why they are generally hated.

Uh, what?  The Omega-4 relay was only briefly mentioned in that novel, and played no role in the plot.  Gillian went off with the quarian expedition, with Hendel going along as her guardian.

This thread isn't for bickering.  It's for listing things that you like that most here others don't.  The reasons why others hate it makes no difference, and no explanations are necessary either why you like it or others don't.  I dislike quite a few of the things that people have listed, and could go on a serious rant about most of them, but I don't.  Because the thread is not about bickering.

PS:  I do have reasons for my likes and dislikes, I just don't think this particular thread is the right place to argue.

You just said that i was wrong, but the repeated exactly the same thing that i was asking/saying....OK.

at the end of Ascension?

I have read all three books, and i know this sir.
But the fact that there was no mention of Gillian in ME2, and no life past the relay during the "Suicide Mission", made me think that Hendel, the Quarians and Gillian were all dead.

And your reasons were not only unasked for, they didn't satisfy.  I already know why people say they don't like something.  I obviously disagree, and fail to understand why people hate these things.  Hate is a strong word, and I have seen nothing that justifies the hate that these receive.

If you want to PM me and ask why I feel the way I do, go right ahead.  I'll respond, in far greater detail than in this thread.  That is if you really care so much about my reasons and didn't want to just spew hatred about my viewpoints.

See here's the thing: the quarians didn't go past the Omega-4 relay. No idea where you even got that notion from. What that quarian ship did was go off into the galaxy looking for potential colony worlds.  We rescue one of the Idenna's scouts in ME2.
