The books also seem to get a lot of hate, but I enjoyed them overall. I just hope that Hendel and Lemm return as major characters in deception, instead of "Gillian left the Quarians and Hendel. Now lets talk about Cerberus and not mention them again" which is what I'm worried it will be.

It's the closest thing in the ME 'verse that sounds like a blaster from Star Wars. Standard mass accelerator rounds (i,e. glorified rail guns) sound like current traditional fire arms, which they wouldn't.
Electromagnetic pulses (which propels the slug from a rail gun) don't go bang. More like a thump. The impact from the round would make an audible sound similar to a bang, provided the speed exceeds that of traditional chemical spent rounds. Which they most certainly would.
F*ck. Why I gotta like (and know) science too much. Makes suspending disbelief so much harder for me to mindlessly enjoy fantasy. <_<

2. Elevators. Yes, they were slower than a paraplegic tortoise in a horse race but they didn't shatter immersion like the loading screens do. In an RPG with as rich a universe as Mass Effect I want to stay embedded in the story and locales, not be ripped out of it by having the game inform me "Hello, you are playing a video game. Here is a loading screen to remind you along with some helpful gameplay tips that you'll get tired of reading after the first hour".
3. Straight characters. Ash and Kaiden (and Shep for that matter) were straight. That's how they're presented, and I've always felt like it would be hamfisted to reverse that now. Since this is a topic about things that you like but other people hate, and this forum seems to think that the new s/s options are the greatest thing since sliced bread, I think this qualifies.

the mako to come back
all past LIs to remain straight sense they were portrayed that way. They can make brandnew ones s/s if they want who cares.
more uncharted worlds to explore 100% like you could in ME
MEs large inventory to come back but instead of saying shotgun shotgun just do shotgun X2.
I'd like dark themes to be brought up and explored not brought up and ran away from. Mornith is an example of this psycho killer and BW wants her dead in 2 seconds what?
Explanation of the Lazarus Project go here to see specifics BW: http://social.biowar...3/index/7730998
I'd like a 3rd reasonable option for the krogan/salarian and the quarian/geth conflicts for instance with the latter I could see the option for let them duke it out if they wish to fight but the Normandy will be the medical ship taking no side but treating both until they decide they want a peace negotiation then shep can step back in.
I want to see Tali's face but not only that but when we get Rannoch back I want to see her face and suit off perhapse in ancient Quarian wear.
I want more beacons back and not only to advance our knowledge into the past of the protheans, reapers, and the original geth but to also give us useful info on potential weapons, locations of explorable ruins, tech we can get tali to work on, and fighting styles and powers shep can use.
Shep to not only freak out but to have dialogue on the trauma of being hacked/possessed if it comes up again in 3.
Shep to breakdown
Fshep and Mshep to get specific actions and dialogue instances of their own they may be shep in alternative universes but they're also different sex wise do more scenes like Omega and fshep challenge make some up for mshep too that makes his playthroughs different then fshep I don't like the 99% clone thing.

-The Mako (There's still a lot of people who hate it...)
-UNC Worlds (A few were tedious due to terrain, but I enjoy them mostly.)
-Elevators (I don't understand how loading screens are better...)
-ME2's Paragon/Renegade System
I know for certain I'm a minority here. But I prefer ME2's handling as conversation options are no longer "level based". And I really disliked ME1's system as with a fresh playthru it's impossible about to access all the Charm/Intimidate options unless you really meta-game. I'm really not sure why people hate it as it more or less still relies on accumulating Paragon and Renegade points to become more persuasive. Paragade'ing can really only be done in a NG+ in ME1 as far as I've tried.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Charm/Intimidate system change (I have a good idea as for how it could be made better) but I'd rather stick with ME2 way of doing things then go back to ME1.

Only vaguely on-topic but at this point everything else I enjoyed from previous games has been stated.

Things I liked.
Mako. I can control it, shoot from it, explore in it, survive in it!
End of Mission summary screen. Nice to get another person's Take on it. We could have this with the Alliance officer like Hacket. (mm love Lance Henriksen's voice and acting)
Missions on Planets using the Mako! I liked exploring them.
Things I hated.
Hammerhead. I STILL cannot control it enough for the DLC content I got, which really p***es me off big time! Not even being able to do the first level of that content so I can't go any further in it is so annoying. >.< I can do the other DLCs that use it, thank goodness. And as others said, it is made of Tissue Paper! I was better with the Unreal Tournament Manta, which I liked a lot more.
Being forced into sexy conversations as FemShep with people like Jacob! I hated how she spoke like a *itch in heat to him and I had NO options to speak any other way.
Semi naked female out in toxic atmospheres with NO armor! Jack for instance. Reality check here - give her battle armor! A see through tiny breather mask and leather straps doesn't cut it.
Lycra One piece for Miranda. OK she's supposed to be sexy. I can live with it, but Armor her on missions!
Not beng able to explore MY ship! I want to go to the area where the hammerhead/mako is, and other parts of it.
No Hide Helmet button. Head protection you need that keeps Shep's face covered up on missions. I spent time designing her face, I want to see it!
Cheesy not-love scenes in ME2! This is a Mature rated game. It is up to parents (and I speak as one) to stop young kids from getting or playing the game, not you at Bioware! Too much is aimed at Family-friendly, let's have Adult friendly! I loved the love scenes in ME1, they were tasteful. I want those back. Fans loved them and we buy the games, not Fox. And free advertising like that makes people buy it.
That's all I can think of for now..

Now I don't want this to turn into a flaming war nor about straight/gay bashing. And in agreement with this topic, it is what you think or want.
But to argue your 2 points. Ash, Kaiden, and Shep could be "roleplayed" differently. More importantly, I didn't see much content that suggests what Shep is as far as sexual orientation. If you have proof otherwise, then I will gladly retract this.

1. Purple Romance options in the speech wheel. I hate talking to Jack and her becoming mad at me for not wanting to further relationships. In fact, I rather hate the stale conversations ME2 had. More calibrations (sp)!!!!!1!11. And for those who say avoid/stay away, I always find Jack interesting and deep
2. Somewhat conflicted on the romance scene. However, make it way better than ME2. Either a more indepth or romantic romance scene or not so shallow. I mean not vulgar, but better.
3. HIDE HELMET Button
4. Light armors for women. Not prancing around naked. It isn't that attractive and honestly, I feel like playing a soft core leather fetish thing.
5. I like the mako, but I didn't like that everything felt so empty. I understand that space is empty for majority but I would like to see bigger settlements or buildings
6. Shepard to NOT breakdown. Seriously... Everything around you falling apart. Everybody dying. A RPG (roleplaying) game, with a story. Shepard needs emotions.

The Toy Normandy - Along with the fuel. It makes you have to actually plan out Galaxy Map moves. I think it is funny when people say it is immersion breaking because it actually brings some realism into it by making you buy fuel like would really have to do if you had a ship and wanted to fly across a whole system. It makes the Galaxy Map fun!

I'd actually like them to give us the best of both worlds. The entire squad (as in ME1) meeting for a post-mission team huddle and discussing the events with Admiral Hackett/The Council, who are present via a hologram or whatever.
Also, as nice as the emails were for fluff, I'd prefer mission/quest updates to be given through a voice message like in ME1.

I simply get used to it and that's all.
I had difficulties with the Mako at first but it's not like you're born knowing how to ride a bicycle. With the Hammerhead I was careful to dodge the attacks and not have it set on fire.
The elevator, I didn't care that much. I usually keep myself busy on other games when there's a long loading screen.
Characters, I'm absolutely ok with the way they are and dress. I'm not going to start complaining about the stupidest things. I don't go to my friends and tell them to stop running around naked and dress the way I like. If they want to streak, that's their problem.
Ammo, if I want to shoot erratically, I can easily go play a shooter with other people where I find ammo everywhere and not start whining because I run out of it. If I keep missing and running out of ammo, then I'm simply not fit for it and have to figure out a way.
But really, some threads are just pointless whining for the sake of contradiction.

Harbinger, seriously, he was much better than Sovereign, get over it ME1 fanboys
Scripted scenes
On-rails sections, the demo with the turret looked awesome
Less powers and skills, I don't want to micromanage all of that useless crap
loljk
