Soahfreako, you talked about Overpower a bit, but I still have some questions. Is there anything preventing Shepard from keeping it active at all times? Does the global cooldown apply to it?

Yes, when the effect ends, it puts everything on cooldown for about 10-15 seconds.

Thanks for the response.  So when you activate it you're saddled with a brief cooldown as well (like any other power)?

I wonder if the ending cooldown can be reduced through points.  In any event, it will be interesting to see how these modes play out in combat.

I don't know if you tried Amplification.  Did it have the same sort of restrictions as Overpower?

I'm a little late to the deal here so so can you clarify some things for me as I would perfer to not have to read through this thread.

I take it you played as an adept,
First may I ask, what are this new powers Amplification and Overpower?
Aslo how different was the adepts gameplay from 2? By which I mean, did the new powers and heavy melee have a signifigant impact?

There was no cooldown when you activate and I did not try Amplification.

Amplification is not an Adept ability. The heavy melee was fun and the new powers were fun, it was a nice change.

Amplification is not an Adept ability. The heavy melee was fun and the new powers were fun, it was a nice change.

It's not on the wiki yet, otherwise I'd say look there.  It's a mode power in ME3 for Adepts that lets them chain powers together more quickly due to reduced recharge times.  Amplification is a mode for Sentinels that drops recharge times if you cycle between tech and biotic powers.  That's my understanding at least.

Same thing, different description. If they're on seperate cooldowns, you're encouraged to alternate to maximize the effectiveness.

That's what it means you get a bonus if you alternate BECAUSE they're on seperate cooldowns. Also fixed.

So there is still a global cool down? It isn't each power gets it's own cool down, they kept it the same from ME2?

I didn't use it much in ME2 so I don't know if this happened, but it curves around stuff now. Also Singularity doesn't need an improvement, it's vastly overpowered to begin with lol.

As someone who knows that ends of outs of all the classes, I can confidently say that singularity was the worst class exculsive ability in ME2 (on Insanity). Worst doesn't mean bad though, it's just the worst out of six great powers. All the class exclusive abilities on Veteran and below could be considered overpowered.

I'll leave it at that, because I don't want to derail this topic any further.

I found Adrenaline rush completely useless. It slows you down as well, so I never found a use for it in my play style.
