I doubt I'll be allowed to go that far, but it is indoctrination. Why was it obvious? They went back to the Collector base to study it. Derp.

Oh, goddie. More reasons to blow that ugly thing up.

the most important question: is it fun to play?

Very. The fights seem to be more fast-paced. The enemies were definitely a lot smarter, but a well placed singularity will make their intelligence null-and-void. lol

Perfect. The story is the main thing that matters, but the game also has to be fun to play so I'm very glad to hear that it is fun even this early. I couldn't care less which genre it falls into as long as it is fun.

I think you have that a little backwards. The game should be fun to play first, and then worry about the story. Otherwise if the game is frustrating to play and not any fun you won't be able to enjoy the story anyway.

If the gameplay is very good, but the story is a bit lackluster, then it will be a very disappointing ME3
If the story is very good, but the gameplay is a bit lackluster, then I'd still be happy with ME3

Exactly.
Gameplay can always be fixed, story can't.

Fair point. I'd say they have to be fairly equal, but for me a game as story-focused as ME I'd still say the story must come first. I didn't find ME1 particularly fun to play - too many glitches, poor AI, badly implemented inventory - but I enjoyed the story so much that it is still one of my favourite games. The gameplay wasn't bad, but at times it was highly frustrating. The story, characters and setting more than made up for it though.

If a story is good, I can overlook poor gameplay. Likewise, if a game has terrific gameplay I can overlook a lacklustre story. Take Portal for example. It doesn't have a bad story my any means, but there isn't a lot of story there at all. It has some very funny lines, but the focus is primarily on the gameplay and because that is so good this is also one of my favourite games. I think it is better than Portal 2, because although that had a story the almost pure feel of the original's gameplay was lost amongst all the extra features they added. I personally value story a bit more, but you are quite right that really bad gameplay can ruin any story.

Ok I'm back from today's events with some more knowledge under my belt. I remember someone asking about Fortitude. This ability wasn't class specific, as it was on the Adept as well. All it did was basically beef you up in terms of survivability. Also Garrus' proximity mine isn't thrown or placed, it's shot to the location of your chosing.

Ooh, you remembered both of my questions!

Anyways, I noticed that some abilities are highlighted in red and have a number value placed on them. I assume these are the grenades, but a confirmation is always welcome.

Yeah Liara had one of those, I really wasn't sure how to use it though. The number was always 0 and pressing it didn't do much. I read the description multiple times and it didn't say anything about how to use it.

Do you get xp during your fights? Does it show that?

Might as well talk about the Adepts class skill. God my memory is terrible right now, I think it was called Overpower. Anyway, it basically allowed me to throw down biotic abilities like nobodies business. It didn't take away the cool downs but they were at least halved. But you could evolve the ability so that the first ability used won't start a global cooldown. so that's pretty awesome.

No, it was a 10 minute demo. It'd be pointless and if there was I didn't notice it. It'll most definitely be in the main game, but no need for it in the demo.

So I'm guessing it's like unity or heavy weapon ammo.   Does that mean each squaddie can have a super powerful power.:)

I have no clue what it was like. It never did anything.

Does the cover system feel any different or is just like ME2?

Edit: Rolls are they of any use?

There's arrows that now pop up to tell you where you will go when you push the left thumbstick in a direction. Rolling is useful to get out of the way of incoming fire that could potentially kill you.

Soahfreako, could you give your impressions on Enemy Layout, Music, Verticality in levels, Level Design, Weapon animations such as reloading. Enemy and squad ambient banter, maybe expound upon Weapon Audio improvements, how and why they're so much better than ME2,

Thanks :)

No I'm not, they've announced all that they had planned on announcing. I've played the demos multiple times and am satisfied enough to make the wait a little more bearable.

Challenge Accepted.

Enemy Layout: I'm assuming this means enemy placement? They were placed in such ways that made sense I 'spose.

Music: I'm not going to lie, I didn't have much time to appreciate music, there was either a firefight or a cutscene blocking it out.

Verticality: The level I played had 2 sets of ladders, one you didn't have to climb and one that you did. I found the added difficulty of having to worry about enemies on your level and the enemies above to be quite fun.

Level Design: I wanna say there was about 5 sections total in the demo. The earliest one had a nice view as you see a shuttle fly past. I enjoyed how this particular level looked.

Weapon animations: These remain entirely the same, the real difference is in the sound. The gun sound effects sound SO awesome, Bioware did good going to DICE for advice in that aspect.

Enemy/Squad banter: The enemy banter was bland as to be expected. It wasn't as bad as hearing "I WILL DESTROY YOU" Every 5 seconds though haha. There wasn't much squad banter since there wasn't much time between fights for such conversation.

Sound improvement: AS said above, the sound effects for the weapons are amazing. I think what really brings them to life is the echo that makes it sound like the shot trailing off in the distance.

Er...You could just look at that GameInformer picture to see that for yourself...
