Harbinger has it coming though.....i can just see Shepard using some sort of device that allows him to take control of him, all the while saying "ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL YOU BASTARD!" lol.

Personally, I hope there is no 'final boss', but as humanities first AI (or the one we know of) , already. Infused with reaper tech, and who already found a way to get herself unshackled, I can see that as a possible development.

I hope the last fight we have is a cinematic where you are commanding a fleet against the (weakened by whatever-plot-device) Reapers, where you have to make a series of good decisions using the accumulated knowledge and allies that have been gained throughout the game.

Note: The ground-section fight would be right before that, coupled with a timed event for an escape. (yeah yeah, I like the urgency. I'm terrible)

Keep Michael Bay away from ME3!!

Pft, wouldn't help. Let's look at the prequels and other Bioware games.

ME1 - Sovereign goes BOOM!
ME2 - Collector base goes BOOOOOM! ...or just pseudo-BOOM!

Dragon Age - Archdemon says KA-BLAMO!
Dragon Age 2 - Chantry says KA-BOOM!

ME3 - <Add exploding object here> says BOOOOOOM!!!

:o

BIG BADA BOOM!

It wouldn't be a Bioware game if there wasn't a BIG BADA BOOM near the end... :wizard:

On Topic... obviously this is how it is going to end.

Alliance Fleet + whatever they have in support from Galaxy taking on the Reapers in space above some planet (possibly Klendagon) whilst <insert squadmate> is leading a force groundside to some location with the aid of some local inhabitants, meanwhilst Shepard is on Harbinger along with <insert LI/Best friend> looking to set something up on there which with the aid of what the groundside team is doing will ensure the Reapers are all destroyed.

End result if successful, Alliance Fleet + allies move out of range along with Shep + LI/Friend and Groundside team... BIG BADA BOOM... everyone celebrates on some planet/station to an earthly celebratory theme.

Highly original, don't ya think? :o

*gibbs slaps self*
If that IS the ending, I am so going to facedesk.

I'm hoping for a big, climactic battle inside Harbinger, with numerous Reaperized aliens attacking us in a never ending onslaught, with a totally evil-looking, tricked out monster of a team mate who has been Reaperized, or even of the Illusive Man. The tech/cyber zombie version of our best good friend Garrus or Anderson or, hell, the VS or even Jenkins. I want an example of what we, as life, would become if the Reapers are successful, breathing down my neck while I, and ally and LI "hold the line" as the timer ticks down for our last ditch effort to succeed.

To a point, this is what happened in ME1, and I loved the Reaperized Saren battle. It fit the canon enough to me to be acceptable as a boss battle.

I think Harbinger will be a boss about halfway through the game and Sheplandpony will have to kill him, and then queue the BIG BADA BOOM....

1) Something worse than Reapers. (Garrus figures there's got to be something worse than Reapers out there, and he's a pretty good tactician, seeing all the angles.)

2) Miranda. She's the REAL Illusive Man. She's been playing you, baby.

3) The Spanish Inquisition. No one suspects the Spanish Inquisition.

Sadly, we all know it's going to be Harbinger using TIM as an avatar.

Thank you mods for asking for our suggestions :)

I think it will have to be the head reaper, the first, the leader, the oldest and strongest.

Or perhaps instead of fighting a 1-1.5 mile high reaper Shepherd will have to fight a life form (organic / artificial) inside the toughest of the reapers. Killing the brain so to speak.

While the Illusive man is probably tough, I feel he could be defeated by Shepherd and his team (note to designers: TIM better have some surprising powers given his inconspicuous exterior)

Couldn't TIM actually just be a suit letting his mooks and goons do what they are supposed to, fight for him that is, and let TIM be a wanker in a suit, dying from 1 bullet?

I'm not sure if TIM would die from one bullet, he probably has passive projectile protection, so even if I as an infiltrator tried to blow his head off with the Widow sniper rifle it might just be deflected.

Too true TIM may be a doll controlled by the collectors, if so it is their most convincing doll so far.

I still think though that TIM is a high level player, compared to the head reaper's king level (for no better phrase). The reapers would very easily kill TIM if it suited their plans.

I imagine Kai Leng will be someone we fight when dealing with Cerberus. Though he could be A boss like Tela Vasir was in LotSB, not the boss like the Broker was.

Doesn't it depend how the Reapers are organised, if like the Geth they are a collective killing them will be made more difficult. If there is a hierarchy then killing the leader may disrupt those beneath it (as was seen when Saren died, disabling Soverign).... but this is not going to be an easy battle whatever happens.
- I think it might be a cheat if Shepherd found an extremely powerful Prothean artifact (see: excalibur) and vanquished all the reapers with it. That would just be too easy.

No but him suddenly pulling a giant coke whizz and yelling: "Say hello to my little friend" and taking several levels in badass at the same time is kinda, well, not TIM style.

Rather have him being a wimp in combat, he is a planner, a mastermind etc. etc. and so forth but not really a great warrior.. Perhaps 30 years ago he could have been a minor threat but not now, especially not against battle hardened Shepard and crew.

We both may be pleasantly surprised nhsk, TIM may be more powerful than he looks; that's just the sort of thing Bioware would do to surprise fans. But you also made a good point, he may choose to let others do his fighting for him and be reluctant to engage in conflicts himself.
In 223 days we'll find out.

The awesome first reaper wich serves as the anti-citadel relay, and the "sleeping place" for the reapers. They absorb species, so they get insight into their thinking, and they share this data on this "reaper citadel" just like the geth. Oh and it will be in the galactic core and Cerberus has found it for extra lulz.
Tru story dat.
Also, this.
