I am not happy about the sentinel heavy melee.

I play sentinel. I love sentinel. It's an interesting caster class with variable armor and a great playstyle.

But I'm really not happy about the heavy melee attack.

Two omni blades? That's... really vanilla for such an amazing and unique class. First off, omni blades are themselves very evocative of tech powers, which is good for an infiltrator or engineer, not so much for others. Tech is, IMO, already a little too prominent in the sentinel's appearance what with tech armor being their defining talent. But two omni blades? My sentinel isn't just a techie- he's a biotic, too. Aside from tossing out a warp or push every so often, I feel that's not that represented. I'd have much rather had an attack that blends the tech and biotic aspects of the character- maybe a omni blade stab combined with a biotic push back, or maybe an omni blade made out of biotic force (as opposed to the simple biotic punch used by the adepts).

Eh, but with a combo of both, isn't there a good chance that it would become a bit too overpowered? The biotic blade doesn't sound too bad though- but then, how does that reflect their tech side? Sentinels are both- their strength lies in diversity.

I'm not happy in general about melee combat, in modern warfare. I mean having it is fine, but so much focus in it, isn't.

I don't like the animation either. Stabbing forward with both hands parallel to the ground and your head pointing down is kind of awkward. The line of action is way to flat and as a result it makes the move look stale and dull. ick

Maybe a quick jab to the eye followed by an uppercut would work better. A good one, two right in the face.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that.
I also was expecting some combination of tech and biotics, for example, the Sentinel goes towards an enemy, electrocutes him using the omnitool and then punches him doing a biotic uppercut or something like that.
But at the end we just have a mere copy/paste of the Soldier's special melee

Ps: Sorry if I wrote something wrong, I speak Spanish.

Spiffy Tech Armor and awkward melee attack. There must be balance! :)

First thing I thought when I saw the melee attack was DBZ fusion dance.

What's the special bio-amp for Sentinels?

I've only seen the standard L5 as plausible, while the Vanguard and Adept get custom amps, L5n and L5x.

Vanguards don't need that, they just need to give the stare that says, "You know all I have to do is charge and you're dead, so just kill yourself to avoid the pain".  One look kill.B)

No, because no matter how complicated the animation is and what graphical effects are involved, as far as the game is concerned, it's just a single attack that does X amount of damage.  They can set X to whatever they want.  It's not like there's some law of physics that makes it do more damage because it's ostensibly using biotics.

That was never specified, but if Cerberus packed their newest generation into all biotic Sheps, why wouldn't they stick L-fives into sentinels who are advanced biotics too?

Well for the most part I agree with you (the animation is mostly irrelevant to the actual damage), Bioware may or may not choose to have the heavy melee attack be influenced by any other abilities or equipment that enhance biotic or tech power (though I don't think that, ever since ME1, there have been items that increased only biotic or tech, but just "power" damage across the board).

Too derivative of the soldier's heavy melee. Twin omni blades as opposed to one? I'm also gonna assume the animation is WIP. It doesn't look powerful or precise, and the motion is uninteresting. Should be more of a slash instead of a stab. The blades don't even connect with the target at times.

I criticize out of love. I'm not gonna miss the elbow of death at all, so I hope more thought and time goes into perfecting the heavy melees.

Can someone enlighten me on how a holographic blade is supposed to cause damage to a physical being?

And that "solid state" crap can go right out the window. It would just then be Plasma, as holograms are digital 3D representation.

Dunno 'bout da hologram part, but a blade edge as thin as a line of atoms is gonna cut through almost anything.
