I am not happy about the sentinel heavy melee.

Can someone enlighten me on how a holographic blade is supposed to cause damage to a physical being?
And that "solid state" crap can go right out the window. It would just then be Plasma, as holograms are digital 3D representation.
Basically, the actual display of the omni-tool and derived blade is mostly to help the wielder. The blade itself is probably an invisible forcefield, a pointed extension of their personal shield simply weaponized. But you try stabbing someone with a weightless, invisible sword: it aint happenin'. The omni-tool likely fashions a hologram in the shape of this field so you know where you're stabbin'.
I always associated the tech armor appearance as a simple visual cueue that the modified shield was up.
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned the omniblade is a monomolecular blade (see link below)
While I can accept that, I also think the blade is ugly, and the sentinel double blade is doubly so. The only melee attack I've seen so far that actually looks good is the adept biotic hit.

While my class 'Infiltrator' may find the omni blade useful, It does appear to be little more than a poorly aimed melee attack for classes such as Sentinel. As a rule of thumb, if an opponent is close enough to touch, the player has done something wrong (Speaking as a 'Widow Sniper' Infiltrator).
You know, now that you mention "touch". I wish engineers would touch the enemy suit and fry allll the tech inside of it, cooking the target inside of it's own powersuit. But then again, this would be pretty poor vs. wild animals. XD

The adept melee skill looks pretty cool, and like "Someone w/ Mass" said seems to be "true to the class." That all said, I wish they'd show a Vanguard already!!

Infiltrator's should have a backstab animation. Right before the killing blow, Shepard goes invisible and reappears behind the enemy, stabbing them in the back.

I play sentinel. I love sentinel. It's an interesting caster class with variable armor and a great playstyle.

SENTINEL
I also play as a Sentinel. I WAS hoping for Kaidan's Biotic KICK to the teeth (or some where lower), but I guess that we're stuck with a dual OnmiBlade enviscerator finisher.

Honestly? While not optimal, if I had to choose between a biotic-only or a tech-only melee, I'd rather have a biotic one. Sentinels, as others have said, already look too tech-y with their shields up. Their melee being biotic based would kind of balance that out, plus then (presumably) 3 classes use the omni-blade and 3 use a biotic attack. And let's be honest: if you were a biotic why WOULD you use your omni blade in melee?JockBuster wrote...

On-topic: Yeah, the melee attack does seem kinda awkward at the moment, heh.

The Adept had a nice biotic attack as Heavy Melee move. So why can't the Sentinel have something a bit more original than dual Omni-blades?

Yeah, let's NOT want the system in the game that they're constantly promoting to be good. Where's the harm in that?
