Anyone heard the new Metallica single? The name of the singer they collaborated with escapes me at the moment, but it was mainly because of him that I didn't like it. It's been slated on YouTube. I appreciate bands and artists trying to do something new and Metallica are big enough to try it without worrying about their next paycheck but this doesn't cut it for me.

Oh god, that album is going to be freakin' HORRIBLE. The single was one of the most ear-grating things I've ever heard - early reviews for the album are also overwhelmingly negative. One reviewer called it "a catastrophic failure on every level." LOL.

Burzum released a new album this week.

Image IPB

It's basically just rerecordings of past material from Burzum and Det Som Engang Var with a couple of ambient tracks thrown in.

It's not bad, per se.

Feeble screams really are the best kind, when they already know their fate is sealed in blood. Good times.

The melody(0:20-0:27) is good, but the main riff(0:00-0:14) gets a bit repetitive. :-/ I enjoyed the song beyond the beginning though. Not mind blowing, but it's alright.

This statement combined with the nonchalantness of your avatar is pretty awesome.

Why thank you. Since it's almost december, what better song to fit the holiday spirit than this? A tad gimmicky, but it's still a fun song anyways.

Hail santa.

Hello old thread. Is metal still relevant on BSN?

Might as well post some stuff since the last time I posted here. #****noonelikes

Oscillator- The Contortionist (Terrible annoying noisy gimmicky grind crap until 1:30, after that however...bliss)

Dead World Assembly- Draconian (New Album sounds a great deal like really good Swallow The Sun)

Light- Periphery

Malignant Amour- Rose Funeral

Restless- 40 Watt Sun (Saw them live. Emotional Mind=Blown, Pat Walker pours so much of himself into his vocals live.)

So, metal-related updates: The current OCRemix album Maverick happens to have some of the best metal remixes I've heard in a while. Absolutely worth a listen just to hear how they remade the Mega Man X tracks. It's very nostalgic. I always enjoyed the original soundtrack a great deal, at least for the first in the line-up.

Bullet Fists of Lightning Fury
Bibamus, Moriendum Est
Duality
Noble Creature of Snow
Crawfish Crackdown

Also, I recently spotted some neat drum covers of various classic metal songs. This one is for Holy Wars.
