It took me a long time to truly appreciate it, that and I have a good circle of friends and alcohol helped a lot in "experiencing it." Definitely not for everyone though, I know people who down right abhor it.IronSabbath88 wrote...
Doom... I just can't get into. I think it's how slow it is, but I do like bands that play it slow (Like Primordial and Agalloch) but I dunno... I just can't get into stuff like funeral doom and such.

Not to mention games like Serious Sam, UT 2004, Emperor Battle for Dune and of course, absolute long time classics such as Red Allert, Duke Nukem, many NHL "XX" games, etc.

Metal thrashing mad, welcome home, ghost in the fog... listening to that while blazing around in my heavy metal hot rod was fantasy fulfillment at its best.

Metallica, yeah. Although Megadeth has stepped it up recently and their most recent album with that HeadCrusher song is pretty damn good, imo. But I do agree it's not as good as their older material.

Dragon Age - Rogues have fun too! (Children of Bodom - Bodom after Midnight)
And while I like all music in general, including many new metal stuff, there's nothing like good old school heavy metal. My favorite, Led Zepellin.
Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand (Live)

This band has some of the best recorded vocals I've ever heard, when "Come closer for myself" cuts in the second time it is so godamn heavy.

Me too. Kill em' all, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets were Metallica's best albums. And Justice For All was pretty good too. After that i didn't pay attention.

How did I miss this thread? I live and breath metal. Mostly old black and death metal, but I appreciate any band with talent and chops. Atheist is absolutely brilliant for example and they can be hard to pin down as any one style.

Also I'm pretty sure it was one of your posts that made me go out and buy Kveldssanger and Nattens Madrigal.
So thanks for that.
