I do. Even though no one here has any clue what that is. But so far I was successful at converting 'em into Dethklok minions.Luc0s wrote...

Nice! Do you watch it on TV? I live in Europe, it doesn't get aired here. So I have to download Metalocalypse from a torrent. It sucks, because that means I have to wait AGES before I can see new episodes. I only recently watched season 3. I'm waiting for season 4 to appear online as a torrent right now.
DETHKLOK!

You should add some Sacramentum to that fine playlist.

Also, do any black metal enthusiasts like Tsjuder or Hellsaw? Quite good bands from the genre. Hellsaw is Austrian black metal and they're pretty raw.

Has anyone ever heard of Savatage, an American heavy/speed/progressive metal band of around the same time period as Iron Maiden. I knew of them by name and of one song thanks to 'Brütal Legend. I was on vacation a few weeks ago and I started listening to their albums 'Hall of the Mountain King' and 'Gutter Ballet' and I was blown away as to how awesome they are. They don't do that much these days (more busy on side-projects) unfortunately, mostly because one of their guitarists died back in the 90's and they never quite recovered from that.
A few examples of my favourites so far:
Hall of the Mountain King
White Witch
Gutter Ballet

Kinda cool! I usually listen to this kind of music while driving my car. This is perfect "car-drive-music" in my opinion!

The interesting thing about Savatage is that they don't stick to a single guitar tuning. They've got songs that can be played in Dropped-C, Dropped-D, D tuning or the standard E tuning.

That's a pain in the butt if you only have 1 guitar (like me). <_<
I like it when I can play whole albums without having to switch tuning between songs.

The songs they do, however, are undeniably awesome, and bask in the unholy glory of metal.

Well I can't say for a fact they actually play it in those specific tunings. But I know that for example, you can't play White Witch without a low D5 chord. Which means E tuning won't do.Luc0s wrote...

Hall of the mountain King is great to play alongside medieval fantasy games, it's a classic. I've watched metalocalypse every now and then, it's kind of hit-and-miss for me. It just... kinda needs some zazz, you know? Really gotta zazz it up.
The songs they do, however, are undeniably awesome, and bask in the unholy glory of metal.
There is absolutely not a single episode of Metalocalypse that didn't make me laugh.
Seriously, I laughed at least once during EVERY- SINGLE- EPISODE of Metalocalypse.
And yes, Dethklok is f*cking awesome! Hail Brendon Small!

Yeah, Brütal Legend has a great soundtrack. It also made me start listening to Slayer. It's unfortunate that the game is somewhat underdeveloped.IronSabbath88 wrote...
I know of Hall of the Mountain King because of Brutal Legend. It was one of the songs I always put on. That, Angel Witch and Deadly Sinners. Great fun.

Otherwise I stay with the classics. Metallica, Accept and Motorhead.

I know what you mean!
I used to listen to metal allmost full-time. But recently I've gotten more into classical music like Vivaldi, Bach and Beethoven.
I'm not joking! I would have never guessed I would ever get into that kind of stuff, but here I am, listening to Vivaldi's four season themes! Amazing stuff!
Anyway, back to metal now! *starts up Dawn of Demise*
For some reason metalheads have an easy time listening to classical music. Especially some of the grand, dramatical pieces. I personally have a soft spot for Händel, great for headbanging. ;-)

On occasion I listen to Wagner myself. I actually went to three of the four parts of Der Ring des Nibelungen. Still need to see Die Walküre

It's because metal in its true form is a modern expression of romanticism of the 18th century. I mean seriously, Tchaikovsky is metal as **** (04:20) and he didn't even know it.
And it's one of the few genres of popular music where musicianship and artistry are appreciated.
