I've known so many folks that have gone down the same path with the same results.
There was obviously something in her that was so painful that self-destruction seemed better than life.
The really sad part is that now everyone who was ever involved with her will make a ton of money...especially her record company!
Odd little note on this whole thing I saw during the story on the news...she was 27 years old. That's the same age as Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Kurt Cobain when they died.

Really..people calling the loss of a talentless, useless junky waste of space a sad loss? She was everything that is wrong with society today....
Talentless? I didn't know she existed until today, she had loads of talent I am not sure why you would say that? As for useless junky..maybe that's how she appeared to you on the outside, but that girl was hurting big time..on the inside, I could see it..in her face.
Have some respect at least now that's she's deceased. Where I come from you don't speak ill of the dead.
R.I.P. Amy Winehouse, may you find the peace you never had whilst on earth.

Jesus christ, you guys saying she deserved to die are outrageous.
I can think of quite a few people whom are much more deserving, but this development was pretty much inevitable. It's hard for me to feel any sympathy for someone who wastes their life in such a way. I had a good friend, 30 years old, die of a brain tumor a few years ago. That is a tragedy. Amy Winehouse? Just a pointless waste of life.

Can someone say how she died? If it was an OD I don't get why people are so sad. Personally I have no sympathy for people who OD or get alcohol poisoning, etc. They brought it upon themselves. Why should we mourn a life that even they didn't respect enough to keep healthy. Might be a harsh opinion, but I don't really see much point.
They won't know how she died til the autopsy is done, that is supposed to be Sunday..which is today where I live.
Anything stated before the results of the autopsy is PURE HEARSAY...those folks don't know, and if I may say, it's rather earlyl to assume anything at this point.

Pfft. I'll be really surprised if it's anything but OD, or drug-related failure of some sort.

She had a few problems, manic depressive, addicted to drugs and alcohol..probably more things we don't know about.
As for people "deserving" to die, I don't think that is our place to decide that...is it? Nor to be judge and jury when we don't have the full facts or even if we do. There is a higher power that judges us..if you believe in that sort of thing. Speaking ill of the dead ..I don't know where that comes from and I don't want to know. It gives me the creeps.

She was a troubled person. I've had friends who struggled with drug abuse, its not a pretty thing to see.
Right and once addicted..it from what I know, is a life-long struggle to stay clean. But those that have never been there, or never had a person close to them, struggle with addiction, seem to like to sit in smug judgement.

Absolutely. There is no higher, objective moral arbiter to do it for us. And the people I would put on a "deserving" list are truly nasty, horrible individuals without whom the world would be a much better place. Amy Winehouse is nowhere near their league.Feraele wrote...

This idea that "all human life is valuable" is a sweet-sounding lie for children.

No matter what she did or didn't do with her life, it's a human being we're talking about.
Be a mensch, don't be a schlamozel. And don't speak ill of the dead.
Hear hear, although I don't know the meanings of mensch or schlamozel, I definitely second everything else you said.

I think you're trolling me...I think that what you say is rather disturbing. I am glad I am not on your list of people who deserve to die....didn't Hitler have a list like that?

Thats exactly how I see her Deathwurm. Like someone stated on one of the you-tube videos, she was crying for help....but I don't think she knew how to accept what was offered.
She cancelled all her shows ..like what 3 days prior to her death....anyone notice that bit? Guess we'll find out if it was accidental or....
