That's Shepard who says they're Protheans. EDI says the Collectors are the labor force and merely pawns. Of course, EDI doesn't say "No, they're not Protheans, Shepard" so it's still supporting evidence.

I love how glitter face kinda abandoned the thread once he/she/it couldn't argue anymore. 
But joking aside, that beastly pack of mean duking it out with Aria looks promising as another Prothean relative, although the only reason to think so are the tentacles draping out of its face.
Does that make me racist? Oh my!
And I always thought the visions, that frame in paretictular, was creeeeepy. Is the left Prothean missing its face? Did it cave in or something? Gasp!
