I'm writing a list of likely scenarios how this will end.

1. Chained up in somebody's basement while they yell at OP to "Stop screaming, I'm posting on BSN about Tali dammit!"
2. OP shows up at gril's house to find out that she is a guy really into My Little Pony.
3. OP is arrested for stalking a forum member.
4. OP is tricked by ManGiraffeDog guy into flying to Nigeria. Has his money stolen and left to die in the desert.
5. Enough "Forever Alone" causes OP to leave the forums never to return.

A lot of people are recommending eharmony- it seems to be a good service- we're invited to two weddings now that were eharmony matches.

The idea behind that site is that if you're looking for a long-term relationship, just going on looks and casual attraction isn't as reliable as finding a match that's based on common interests and values.  It's a sensible idea.  But yeah, if all the guy wants is someone to hang out with/ roll in the hay with, then relying on "lats" is less trouble.

On a more serious note, this conversation really has gone off on a tangent.

Well love happens during the strangest of threads...

I think the OP should head out and socialise, focus more on finding a woman willing to tolerate his gaming and less on finding a girl gamer. Otherwise he could be missing out on something good while searching for an ideal. Like that time I tried to date a lesbian in the hope she wouldn't mind me sleeping with other women because she would be doing the same thing, when I should have just went for a woman who doesn't care about me sleeping around.

I agree, one should go out and socialise, you can meet great people. For instance, a while back I met the nicest girl, when I went out with some friends, she only charged me her standard rate.

If she had a standard rate for it then I doubt you went too far. I found your story touching and I'd watch a made for tv movie about how you found love with this lady starring Emilio Estevez and Shannon Doherty.

I hope you didn't take that seriously?

At any rate, I don't know if Emilio Estevez would portay me correctly, I think I would have to do that myself if Shannon Doherty was involved. But, If only that were true. Anyway a trip to Essex can always be arranged.

One of Shannon Doherty's eyes is actually trying to escape from her head because it can't stand her. True story. I think she would love a trip to Essex, who wouldn't?

I admire the OP's guts in actually coming out and posting a request like that. However, as you've found, that mostly just leads to trolling and ridicule. While it is possible you could catch some girl's eye this way, it mostly just comes off as looking desperate.

I'd recommend trying some online dating sites instead. There are some out there that even cater specifically to gamers or those with geeky interests.
