all the major shooters have multiplayer. it's a necessity. it's what most people want to play. you can't NOT have multiplayer and be a successful blockbuster franchise

Bioshock series (Bioshock 2 is an exception and THAT was terrible) 

Fallout series

L.A. Noire 

Mass Effect series

Stalker series

Hitman series 

Dead Space (Once again, the sequel wasted good dev time to make a mp feature that no one liked or wanted)

i find it funny, that a lot of you are fine with the streamlining of the series and always spout about Bioware has the right to appeal to a wider audience. Well with a MP, they can appeal to a wider audience

I don't mind single player, but a co-op campaign of the major missions would have been fun, but teammates might not like the role playing conversation part of it, so all that stuff would have to go completely to cutscenes with the default conversations. AND because of that would have to have a completely separate save game from the single player.

But I enjoy the game as a single player.

Wait for Mass Effect spinoff series. It will not end at 3. The universe doesn't revolve around Shepard. He will be a legend but everyone dies one day (a second day in his/her case). It's a big galaxy though with trillions of people. Who knows what can happen?

Yes, Perfect Dark, Halo and Doom II: Hell on Earth are HORRIBLE games. HORRIBLE.

2 games on this list don't have multiplayer and still very successful in sales.

You just shot yourself in the foot with that and proven multiplayer is not necessity for big sales.

I hope if they do multiplayer it is done in a complete different studio with no story impact at all. Let BioWare focus on RPG, and EA can let someone else do the spin off multiplayer for Mass Effect for the masses. I honestly think a MP for Mass Effect would be fun -- I envision it being sorta like Unreal Tournament/Gears of War meshed together, but I would never want it if it impacted the RPG/single player aspect.

This list is wrong. It does not take into account:
1. people playing offline
2. people playing the singleplayer of these games, maybe not Cod or Gears, but red dead, gta and assassins creed cause let's face it, the mp in assassins creed is **** and the only reason it is there sucking resources out of the good part of the game is so they could put "has multiplayer" on the box.

Just because game has MP feature, doesn't mean all player use it.
I don't want MP in ME3, maybe next ME games, but not in ME3.

I wouldn't mind it in ME3 if it wasn't Bioware doing it in all honesty. That isn't because I don't think that BioWare could do a good enough job per say, but because I'd rather BioWare's focus to be completely upon it's single-player.

Now, if they made use of their collaboration with DICE in other ways other than just sound production, and got them to make a multiplayer mode, then I think it could kick ass, providing BioWare had finished all their dev tools and DICE could have some practical hands on with the environment and thus they can develop it simultaneously to ME3's single-player experience.
