Losing Earth would be like the US losing the mainland and only consisting of Hawaii and Alaska. Sure the US would still exist but its would no longer be a world power.

Ugg this thread is too full of trolls grasping that they lost and the SA is SUPPOSED to protect Earth, whether or not it is a bad idea or not is COMPLETELY irrelevant,it is a well known fact that running into burning building is a bad idea, but people do it anyway.

Please lock this thread and save us from eternal trolling.

So watching said building continue to burn whilst foolishly banking on some miraculous deus ex machina from a group who is very much disliked by most of the SA and the Council (who has a laughably high failure rate, mind you) is a better and more logical solution? You might as well consider Earth completely lost by the time said miracle arrives, if it ever does. At least by rallying the SA's forces to defend the 99% of humans in existence has some kind of fighting chance, whereas retreating like an idiot while leaving your loved ones and humanity as you know it to burn and foolishly praying for a miracle is nothing short of lunacy.

That's a wrong analogy, because you are implying that Earth is Mainland of the Alliance, which it isn't it's Arcturus station.

Arcturus Station could better be compared to Washington D.C. Arcturus Station is small and insignigicant next to 99% of humanity. And I hate to break it you but if the Reapers are attacking earth then Arcturus Station has been destroyed bub.

You're right. You should be the one to save the Galaxy from the Reapers. I always knew using your brain beats brute force. Because you sir, will blow the Reapers up with your logic, literally.
I am bearing here. But they don't know what we civilians know. That's our secret weapon. Plus, thinking too much fries our brain and smoke comes out of our ears.

And now we have the Collector base at our dissposal and were are going to give usless civilians a fake vacaction that will end up in a lot human goo so that we can make us an anti reaper weapon.

Nope, we're going to be saved by the convenient plot device. It will appear when convenient. We just need a little patience. It's there. it will only appear to the chosen one when it's most convenient.
I know you're the Arthur who can pull the sword out the stone. The balance to the Force. The Cinderella to the glass slipper.

Nope the Reapers just FTL out of orbit right above earth, no need for relay's.

Also look at it from this Perspective, You are an Alliance Honcho, and the goal is to make humanity stand strong in the galaxy, and to make profit, you have a lot of backing from Human Corporations and Alliance colonies, Earth on the other hand is just a big moneysink that deals with and overcrowed population and a lot of undeveloped parts, Bang the Reaper attack  and what do you do, You pull all you're forces back and  and wait untill TIM develops a  Superweapon at the C-Base, then you strike at the reaper fleet and you can establish human dominance, without having to worry abou that once ''acid waste slum''.

I was talking out of an Alliance POV

I don't care about the billions of useless civlians on earth, those few million hard working on the colonies will be much more needed to maintain the human race.

The rest of us: 1+2=3

It doesn't matter how much sense it makes that the alliance is helping Earth,he doesn't get that as much as he doesn't like it,it has been done, the SA IS helping and no matter how much he picks apart our posts he can't change that, logical or not, suicidal or not,it's what they are doing and that's the bottom line.

Fixer, something tells me you're gonna watch Earth burn from orbit with a creepy smile, chuckling to yourself and rubbing your hands. And the music playing in your headphones will be the screams of despair and pleas of help.

But sadly, you can't keep stubborn, fanatical, idiotic, fan-fic dumbasses from being what they are. It's like telling heat not to be hot.

Two problems here:
1. Earth is not a "moneysink"
2. The Collector Base has been reduced to atoms.

If you seriously think that the Alliance won't be attacked by other races or can even survive without Earth, then this isn't much of a discussion.

So, you think that they can survive with a decimated fleet, good thinking

Actually 99% of the resources the Alliance needs comes from anywere other then earth.

So we just allow the Alliance and all of its colonies to lose most, if not all of it's financial and military backing? Putting you in charge of anything begs for complete and utter failure.
