Yeap. Thus Vegeta. I heard a rumor that Trunks is just one of many clothing-gag names too...

Still not funny.

The classic bad-anime running-with-swords scenes,

not sure I understand.

the gruntscreams,

Japanese VAs don't sound good to English ears sometimes. I'd wait until an English trailer comes out before giving judgement

the blood fountains, etc... yeah, doens't look so good to me.

If you cut an artery or a vein, you're going to lose a lot of blood. Arterial spraying covers a place in a lot of blood.

Just want to say this once: japanese voice actors can be ****ing amazing! It might be difficult for a lot of people appreciating it because of the language and such, but seriously, there are a lot of incredibly talented japanese VAs. I haven't seen much any anime that I wouldn't recommend watching in japanese with subtitles for a far superior experience.

Only exception for me is this one hentai I know which has the most amazingly BAD german dubbing ever. It's among my top 10 funniest movies of all time.

Well yeah, and the fact that his name is really Butter and Burter is a dub name.

For those that don't know- Ginyu: Ginyu is Japanese for milk Jeece: From the word Cheese Ghurdo: From Yo'ghurt' Burter: Butter Recoome: A play on how the word Cream would be pronounced in Japanese (CuReMu).

Most Dragon Ball characters have food names.;)

Yup this guy knows where it is at <3 I <3 Dragonball Rice beats cockroaches everytime :P

Dawn of the Seeker looks like it will fail in Japan. Why are they doing it in japanese anyway? Shouldn't they do it in english first?

I think the English version needs to be released to fully appreciate it. I know anime can put of people (it puts me off) but to be honest I remember LOVING Pokemon, Beyblades, Dragon Ball Z etc... as a kid, so it's just lack of watching it that puts me of, I think I'll love it. The Japanese are good are doing these things, and I put my trust on them.

People who say otherwise have the same problem as me I think. Lack of watching anime can really put you off it, and it makes you under appreciate things. It's really ignorant and obnoxious when we accuse something we have no idea about (and no watching a trailer doesn't make you an expert of anime.)

Still... would have prefered CGI like FFVII Advent Children (like I said in my last post.) xD

Yeah really Dragon Ball is a story about food more than anything.

A carrot and piccolo team up to fight a radish, who have stolen the carrot's son, cooked rice.

After the piccolo killed the carrot and radish, he took the cooked rice to train to fight against the vegetables. A powerful alien race who eradicated their rivals the fruits under the lordship of a freezer.

The piccolo and cooked rice are aided by a monk chestnut , jiioza, a bandit that dates bloomers, and a guy that dates Lunch.

The cooked rice and chestnut travel to namek, where they fight dairy products.

THE END.

Also full list of name puns if anyone cares.

ehhh... where are all this dragons coming from??? I thought, they kill the most of them hundreds of yeares ago.

I don´t like the "Apleesed" design of the charas. Why didn´t they chose an other studio like gonzo or production I.G. ???

@Syros Mener: The Nevarran Dragon Hunters did hunt them to the point of near extinction. At least that's what they thought, but Dragons are more intelligent than Thedosian society gives them credit for. And Dragons do like to be underground or in caves, so they were probably hiding out down there alongside whatever cultists worshipped them.

Don't worry, it's perfectly natural. This is alien to most of us, it fine, I guess it's the Japanese voice acting that puts of alot of people. When we don't understand the language it becomes more like "WTF" than "Oh, great dialouge!"

I'm guessing Cassandra's "ARRRGGGHHHHHHH" made things worse. To be honest the thing that bothered me most was some of the wacky animations and the lack of certain sound effects, but I think I'll buy it when the time comes. I hope to see an English trailer first, I'd hate to see them use a different VA for Cassandra.

Because Bioware didn't choose the anime studio. The studio was already primmed for the deal. Plus evidently the guys at Bioware enjoyed Vexille.

Why anime? Why not machinima or Blur like Sacred Ashes?

Because Funimation approached Bioware and asked them if they wanted a Dragon Age anime.

Personally I won't judge the anime until I see an English trailer, and even then that would only be me judging it on what I've seen.

Assuming this anime is on the same level of quality in terms of story as Ghost in the Shell, Hellsing, Afro Samurai, or Fullmetal Alchemist then I'll be happy. Hell I'd even personally throw in Pokemon. Despite being filled with filler the stories it does tell -- generally involving the delicate balance of nature being disturbed -- have very mature undertones. Like Pokemon Hunter J, who poached Pokemon for profit and had no qualms about harming innocents, and to our knowledge she was killed off in the series.

I think there are some misconceptions on what anime truly is. I think people tend to associate the entire style of animation and storytelling with stuff like Beyblade -- an anime I myself detest -- and don't really see how great anime can really be as a storytelling medium.

I recommend that anyone who thinks anime is bad watch Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Both the 1st GIG and the 2nd GIG. It's a cyberpunk anime that explores the political infrastructure of futuristic Japan. Around.... 2030 A.D. I believe.

If you look at certain manga -- which anime is usually based off of -- then they deal with some heavy themes or are very adult. Off the top of my head are manga series like DearS or Love Hina

Animation is a style, not a genre.

Shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender and Teen Titans borrowed from this style heavily. Dragon Age is no different.

And may I remind you the more traditional animated movie Heroes of the Lance? That POS was atrocious for various reasons, one of which was the cheap animation.

The Japanese title is Dragon Age: Blood Mage Crusade

The first link on the right-hand navigation menu is the official updates.  Here's what info I got from it:

Individuals who see the movie in theatres will be given a code for three exclusive items in DAII.

The theme song was done by the Japanese band GACKT and is entitled "Until The Last Day".

The second link is production information.  It gives the background of the DA series and explains why this film exists.

Third link is about the DA world.  There's info about the Divine, the Templars, the Circle of Magi, and Blood Mages.

Fourth link is Story and Characters.   There are some images of each of the characters and a short bio on each.

Fifth link is the cast and their profiles.

Sixth link is a gallery of stills from the film.

Seventh link is a list of theatres where the movie will be showing in Japan.

Eighth link is a collection of videos about the film.

Ninth link explains how the film relates to the games, mostly talking about Cassandra's role in DAII.

Tenth link advertizes the games and lets you buy them.

Eleventh link is just an external links page.

If you have any specific questions let me know and I'll try and answer them (if I remember to look at this topic again.)

So, Dawn of the Seeker is the upcoming Dragon Age movie, following Cassandra's past. What do you guys think? Will the info in it be canon?

Yep!

In the words of the #57 made famous...

CAN'T WAIT!

Note: My Adivice to anyone watching  please try to watch in Subs... Japanese and English of completely different sentence structure and word order so  for most part english dub sound off for that reason. Whats good is that  Funinmation has some of best  dubs you can find.

@The Ethereal Writer Redux,    Oh I love me some GiS  but  I never get a change to sit down and watch it.  :(

I'm excited to see this movie! If "Appleseed" is any indication of Japanese titles being "Westernized" it should turn a lot of heads.

I want to know is this Japanese with English dubbed over or English with Japanese dubbed over. I want to know if the lips are in sync with what I hear.

The visual style is ok with me. It kind of reminds me of assassin’s creed ember, which I liked visually.

The music in the trailer does not suit this fantasy world IMO.

Why does it look like they are making an animated movie first for the Japanese market and later for the western one? I would have thought it would be the other way around since the Dragon Age franchise is primarily a Western franchise.
